Hey Jory, I just wanted to let you know that this video inspired me to buy the Stowa Flieger 6498 Bronze Vintage . The finishing on the movement and watch overall for the price point is fantastic in my opinion. The more I wear this watch the more I love it. I wasn't aware of Stowa before seeing this video. Learning that they were one of the original 5 German companies to make Fliegers, in very good company with IWC, makes me love the watch even more. Thank you very much for the post

If you like the Damasko DC56 try the DC66 with the 12 hour bezel. One of the best aviation tool chronographs that exist. Just be mindful that the hardened steel is more susceptible to corrosion so keep it dry and its a beast.

I'm saving up for a Sinn U2-S (I have the wrist size to wear it). It was great to see Damasco mentioned. Their lumed white dial versions are pretty cool. They also have a their own patented steel hardening process (they made Sinn cases once upon a time). If you want a tool watch, they don't get much more toolier. A. Lange & Sohne kind of goes without saying. Glashutte often gets pushed aside as a lesser brand, but they are actually the company that's been in continuous operation. At their best, they match or even outdo ALS. Their PanoRetroGraph is pretty much the most insane chronograph I know of. Counts up, counts down, setable repeatable timer with a chime. Oh and it's a flyback with a panograph date.

I love the 4 o'clock date window. The date window a 3 eliminates a numeral or at least some lume destroying the dial symmetry. Also it is easier to read at a glance when the wrist is in it's more common position e.g. on a desk or steering wheel etc.

My personal favorite watch is German made. It’s made by a company called Marc and Sons. A smaller company from what I understand, founded in 2006 apparently. I got their Automatic Vintage Pilot watch and absolutely love it. I’m aspiring to be a pilot, and I wanted to get a pilot’s watch that looked like something from the instrument panel on a cockpit, but also wasn’t a crazy busy dial, and this watch was the only thing that fit the bill for me. It uses a Miyota 8217 movement, has sapphire glass, 10 ATM water resistance, a date complication, and the hands and numbers on the dial glow in the dark. I seriously love this watch but have never seen anyone review or talk about it. Maybe the Time Teller could be the first?

Love your vids. Great one on German watches! I’m looking for a grab, go and forget it watch. Weekend, vacation, whatever. My best guess is probably a field. Something with no date, automatic (but that I can wind), good legibility/lume, decent waterproof rating (I guess 100m), relatively flat in case I wear it to work and need it to fit under a cuff and that’s about it. My wrist is 6.5, so not over 40mm. I guess under $500. Any suggestions? Thanks much!

Loved the intro! With regards to hunting laws, there are places here in the states that don't allow flash hunting. It can stop animals in their tracks opening up for an easy shot. It is even worse when people do it to go trophy hunting in the offseason. Joe Rogan has a great interview with John Nores where he talks about arresting people in the woods in CA that would do this.

Hey Jory I feel your pain. Long time sub here but maybe my first comment. We all appreciate the quality of German Watch making and Engineering, and very rightly so. However, if you are as old as i, or maybe your Grand Father we have emotions and history to deal with. We all like modern Germany and it's people. We want to forget but hey, if you lost your whole family somewhere in history sometimes buying German is difficult. In my adult life I have bought Cars and Watches made in Germany. Because very often they are the better. But even now I struggle to wear Gold.

I love what you did for Glashütte original. The last one is my personal favourite. Some other brands from the same town: Union (they have some pieces that could be mistaken for the Longines Master, same pricerange though), the Belisar, I think, moonphase, calendar and chrono, bit buzzy. The brand Mühle Glashütte also makes some nice pieces, like the SAR rescue timer, a simple toolwatch with only eye for functionality. They're naughty watches, or nautical?

You have of course the watches you mentioned, But Germany has other makers. I would like to mention a couple of these. Nomos is a relative new brand with started from scratch after the reunification with a Pesseux 7001 (if I am correct) and evolved to a company who managed to make their in-house movements. Not to forget Junghans famous for their electric clocks and unfortunately detonators. For business/ethical reasons they split the company , they have a great lineup of Bauhaus inspired watches (mostly with Swiss calibers) and their Mega lineup of watches (Quartz watches who synchronizes with the various worldwide atomic clocks on LW) to my knowledge these are in-house developed movements. Perhaps not so fancy as the mechanical counterparts but worth mentioning.

Very nice choice. I go back-and-forth between that and the panomaticinverse. I just wish they were under 12 mm thick

Sinn rocks, and the first time you revolve the wrist you will get it. Amazing crystal management. You can hardly tell it’s there.

Alright! Continued watching this vid at 12:10 EST after a time-out with David Gilmour. Just finished and thoroughly enjoyed it! For me, a gorgeous German Timepiece would be the Glashutte Original Vintage Collection Sixties Reference # 1-39-52-14-02-041 Quite stellar from my perspective!
