Flynn Taggart was based on the Doom Novel and John Kane was based from Doom Resurrection Of Evil. We know Doomguy was actually BJ Blazkowicz III or Stan Blazkowicz, which is BJ's grandson and Commander Keen is Doomguy's father. And Daisy was the last gift for Doomguy as his pet.

For the record, if anyone is searching for it, the Flynn Taggart Doom books were written by Daffyd Ab Hugh and Brad Linaweaver. Knee Deep in the Dead, Hell on Earth, Infernal Skies, and Endgame if I remember correctly. Lots of characters in the books that have no real bearing to the plot of the games. But he did have a love interest, Arlene Sanders.

The og novels, the first and second one, where nice, only issue is that demons weren't Demons, but alien creations to conquer the Earth, and so the monsters got significant changes because of that. Pretty dumb change because the books speak about lots of stuff like religion, mormons and stuff. Because of that the majority of the fans didn't gave them a chance, wich is understandable. Never read the other two. But I heard they don't have anything to do with the games at all. Not bashing on the autors or anything cause adaptating Doom is an enormous task, but for the demons..... damn, he had one job.

5:13 it actually makes sense and an example is if you use a slayer skin without a helmet like the barbarian slayer skin on the first dlc for doom eternal (the ancient gods part 1) in one of the cutscenes the intern explains what he knows of the plan doomguy has and then says “ready for launch doomguy…” as doomguy walks away with a confused/annoyed-ish look on his face.

Personal Headcanon: Doom Guy's bathroom is hidden so he can get some much needed peace, quiet and safety during a time where he would be most vulnerable. Also he likes bubble baths. If the Punisher and Wolverine can both admit to each other they like bath bombs in a comic illustrated by Goran Parlov, Doom Guy can have bubble baths.

The Barbarian skin fits the scene of the Crucible restoration just perfect. It only lacks "By the Power of Greyskull..." Also, if I remember correctly, there was some kind of water pond in the Fortress of Doom, when player could unlock Sentinel Sparring Armor, so we can assume this could be use in the past as the Fortress' bath house. So there's a chance he could actually bathe...

I think that the part with Doomguy having or not personal hygiene issues is because what gamer would be interested and/ or waiting patiently until he's in the bathroom taking a dump or a shower. Imagine the Marauder knocking at the bathroom door: ''Hey! I'm getting bored waiting here! Told ya to eat more fiber, dammit!'' On the other hand, seeing how many ''fan arts'' out there with Doomguy are questionable to say the least, it was for the absolute best the creators didn't took in account that trivial aspect.

Kevin Cloud created most hand animations like the punching animations which are based on Kevin Cloud's hairy arms, there are even wall textures made out of human skin based on Kevin Cloud's skin, even an unused texture which is wall with a bruise is based on Kevin Cloud's scraped knee.

Actually, Bobby Prince did not provide the voice for doomguy. All of doomguys sounds in the original games were taken from a free sound library, Decino did a very good video on this.
