If you live in the USA, then you have incredible access to healthy ‘cheats’ like frozen rice, quinoa, cut veggies, pre made salad mixes etc. This is my all time favourite hack as it means you outsource most of your work. The ultimate leverage is just not having to do something. ❤ What’s your favourite hack?

I love frozen veggies. Living alone when I buy fresh I end up throwing out stuff. They even have frozen avocados now!

I have started buying more can beans and lentils, just low sodium ones.

My meal cheat is I put a bag of onions in the blender with garlic at the beginning of the week. I then divide them into food bags and put them in the freezer. For each meal I have ready made garlic and onion and don’t even get teary eyes!!

I blend my onions too because my eldest son loves the flavor but doesn’t prefer the texture.

Keep your fresh ginger and turmeric root in your freezer! Then you can grate it straight into your food, even when frozen, and you always have the fresh stuff 😊
@pixiegardner80947 ай бұрын
You could also put them in a mini chopper. I do my ginger first then pop it in a freezer bag, flatten it, and freeze it. Repeat with the ginger. You can then break of however much you need for your recipe. We grow curly parsley and I use the same process for this. Do the parsley first - saves washing up between whizzes. You might have a few green flecks in the ginger but who cares! It doesn't affect the flavour.

I do this with ginger also😊

I love freezing both also. I’ve discovered that frozen ginger, when rubbed on a microplane over a cup, makes the best ginger tea! (Better taste and it dissolves into the hot water.) It also perks up the taste of the berries on my oatmeal. Ginger rocks!

I don’t have a dishwasher. I fill the sink with warm soapy water at the beginning of my food prep and wash up as I go and leave it wash up straight after we eat

Though I do have a dishwasher, our pots and pans can’t be put in there so this is exactly what I do at dinner time! They won’t get cleaned otherwise.

I am moving to US soon. It is a new beginning for my spouse and I. I am going to be adapting all ten of these. I already do most of them but with different intensities. I am most excited about the "cheats", prepackaged, convenient, and next-best options. It is pretty expensive and difficult to find such cheats where I live but US is on whole another level. My friends and family were sharing how you gain lbs in US just by breathing and I was laughing internally knowing well how easier it is going to be for me to maintain my weight loss. This video is what I needed. I am going to make a checklist of all these things to know I've adapted into them consciously in the beginning and habitually with reps. Love your vids, Chels.

If I know what meals I'm going to cook later in the week, I'll prep all the vegetables ahead. For example, I'm getting salad ready for the week and using bell pepper in it, and a recipe for later also calls for bell pepper, I'll chop that, too. Since I do wash bell peppers, I just make sure to dry it before cutting and storing. For broccoli and cauliflower, I try to cut them when I get home from shopping. Those two I'll rinse before using.
