True. I thought Cluemaster would be included if not ranked 1 on the list. Many villains in the batman's rogue gallery was used in Batman: Eternal... even Carmine Falcone went back to Gotham just to be a piece in the schemes of Cluemaster. Batman and readers alike has left dumbfounded on who really is the mastermind behind the chaos that's happening in Gotham.

For the Killing Joke, i dont really see that as the Joker getting one over him. I think that at the end of the story, Batman saw a part of who joker really is. A guy who had a really bad day, something that Joker wanted Batman to see, but also, possibly more important, he was a guy who just wanted a laugh. Batman laughing is more symbolic, perhaps towards a friendship and actually gaining ground to help Joker mostly because the bats is probably the first, and only guy who really laughed at a joke of his.

God I can’t agree more. The Killing Joke did not feel like a Joker win to me. As much as he is ok with dying as a means to mess with The Bat, I believe what The Joker really wanted is that laugh. Any REAL laugh. It has long since left his mind, too jumbled with plotting and whatnot, but this was all from a terrible day, from a man who got little recognition.

That's why I usual only read/ watch stories that is about Batman, and not the Justice League, because when the Justice League is around, he got this god mode plot armor all the damn time and start to act outside a humans capabilities. But isolated stories around Batman, they usual go with that he's a human, and he fights things that is possible to defeat, and overcome what ever obstacle that is in front of him.

That's the whole story is about in Unjustice. When a villain takes over, it's usual a city. When Superman goes rogue, the whole planet is involved. Also it has a lot to do that Batman have seen the alternative universe where Superman rules, which is a possible future for their own, if they aren't on their watch.

Batman always knew the Court of Owls existed, since he was a child in fact, he just gave up searching altogether because he couldn't find solid proof of their existence when he was younger, add to the fact that, when he got into his early teens, he had to leave Gotham for most of his life to train to become Batman, also add to the fact that when he finally came back, he had to create his superhero persona, plus balance that with his civilian life as Bruce Wayne, combine all of that with the fact that the Court is an already super secret, super careful and mythical organization, there literally was no time, or way for Bruce to actually uncover the Court of Owls existence, so I can't really blame him.

The war of Jokes and Riddles, Batman loses control because Riddler revealed that the whole war is a setup just to create a funny situation for the Joker to laugh at. Not because he taunted Batman.

Riddler has beaten Batman several times and has proven to be smarter but his obsession with leaving clues is what hinders him. Though Riddler did reform before the new 52 and became even cooler than Batman by becoming a badass detective. He actually was a better detective and Batman had to go to Riddler for help with crimes not even he could solve. They teamed up a few times. Riddler started leaving clues to unsolved crimes for police and actually managed to use his criminal contacts to gain information. He did a better job cleaning up Gotham than Batman ever did and became the hero the city needed.

How is The Joker outsmarting Batman, simply by making him laugh, in The Killing Joke ????? Even if you think he caused Batman to murder him, in the end, it would still have nothing to do with being smarter, at all : it would simply mean he caused him to finally give in to his darker nature, by either listening to his anger or his judgment. It's not like he manipulated Batman into killing the woman he loves, like the Injustice Joker manipulated the Injustice Superman.

He then kidnaps Jim and humiliates and tortures him, by depriving him of his clothes, while collared freaks force him to watch pictures of his naked and agonising daughter, while he is wearing a collar and a leash. Robin does not play any role in it.

You missing the point. In lore Bruce did know about Court of Owls. His whole persona is actually reference to them, what is most clear in case of his Earth-3 counterpart Owlman. But thing is that like with our Illuminati Batman was convinced that whole thing is just dumb conspiracy (mostly because it involved his own family). I agree that calming that they outsmart him is stretched, though.
