1:12 rotation of backfoot 1:43 squeeze the hand 2:17 speed 2:53 lean forward a bit 3:33 focus on hip+shoulder (let them take the lead) 4:18 use a resistance band 5:08 loop through the punches (not technically correct) 6:06 exhaling on the punch 7:00 opposite arm pulling back 7:55 using light(!!!) dumb bells I personally would add "sitting down on punches". Meaning you lower your base a little bit when throwing the cross (bend the knees a bit). Staying too upright lets you generate less(edited. Thx) power from the ground/legs

i know the concept of sitting down on punches so i understood the last sentence of your comment but you made a mistake of typing upright twice.

This perfect for me. Because of an old shoulder injury, my right cross is my weakest punch. Thanks, Gabriel!

Hope you are really ready. If she didn’t fall from the your cross, then follow with left hook, and lastly ground and pound, I hope you are good in the ground fight! Good luck!

Amazing video Gabe, I really found it useful, especially the tip with hardening my fist, closing it more and the resistance training! 🎉

If you're already hitting with 500 pounds of force, 10% is still 50 pounds. That's not something to dismiss. :)

Give this a try before you knock it. Instead of standing tall and driving forward to your lead leg. Sit down more on your rear leg and bend that knee more, the deeper the bend the more drive and weight you can put on your cross.

Incredible tips, thank you Gabriel!! Question: I've heard some random online that people should squeeze their fist last minute, which didn't make sense to me. Is there any validity to that?

Please do the same video with the left hook
@PassionateSpirit88 Жыл бұрын
Gabriel has a few videos about the lead hook. I would suggest John Hackleman from The Pit (former Chuck Liddell trainer) about anything to do with the left hook. He is all about it.

Sir, what is your opinion about punching with weights? You already mentioned about shadowboxing with more waight then 1-2kg is useles, but what about pure repetitons like for example swinging from side to side as “uppercuts” with more heavy dumbbell? Or like repetitions with bigger weight just hooks? Or is it useless? Thank you 🙏🏼

Eh your better of doing medball throws with proper punch form. Not to heavy, not heavier than 4 kilo's i would say.
@kevinmcglynn3529 Жыл бұрын
Not tryna be rude but ive never seen any pro boxer or kick boxer shadow box or recommend that u do with anything nore than 2kg. Im guessing u havent either so id say its pretty useless tbh
@roelandblok860 Жыл бұрын
I am not talking about shadowboxing but about shotput throws with a med ball. No more than 5 reps per side though. Look at some of Phil Daru's stuff for more information.@@kevinmcglynn3529

Squeeze that hand at the last moment
@ZonbiNinja-w2c Жыл бұрын
i personally squeeze the hand halfway through the punching motions for the reason that i might misjudge the distance so i dont wanna be hitting with a loose hand.

bruce lee said.. don't load your hand exactly for the punch, let it be soft and at 3 cm 5 cm 1 inch maximum then tense, otherwise you risk breaking your wrist in a girl with strong bones, otherwise I see many only strength strength, weights training anything for... the wrist, yes... you reach a limit if you fight professionally, you reach 155 light, you can't increase the power, you start fighting without gloves only with a bandage slowly, don't be crazy, don't try to break a bamboo the size of a coffee cup thick from 3 low kicks or semi..like buakaw....but u want ur bones id the only way, make more power put more muscle, I don't know anymore I'm afraid of those with weak bones I'd choose a 200pounds I'm 175 ..and 2 meters or 1.90, I'm 1.78 5.10 reach 76 give me possibilities to keep him at a distance, but I like it, I act like Joe Rogan, I use my fists bandaged behind the gloves, when ... and he raises his knee and elbow yes with he in the table, and he is right, I die on some athletes, especially wrestlers or grapplers who ..islam for example with volkonosky nice leg yes it was not professionaly..he done the job..so i choose bones..jon bones jones. ..it's logical, think of a huge pork chop with meat on the bone ..and it hits you in the head with it...or just a simple bone...believe me, I didn't believe it either after 3 4 inside kicks on top the knee, r2 I got cramps and I said wow..incredible, you have so many arms, I mean crazy elbows, especially when you have a huge reach at 5.10 like me, when you close the distance you are almost many throwing slow punches, I understand the fatigue, but it easier bends over bends, they are bony..anyway brilliant video..tnx gabe
