Number 1. For real! I’m so sick of games with no linearity. Forcing open world games without a clear plan is crippling to any sort rising action and destroys any hope of storylines where we save a region from team rocket replacing them with keeping kids from… ditching school… how thrilling…

I don't understand how this series as lasted for so long without implementing A. Difficulty modes (Easy - Medium - Hard - Expert) to give games some replayability and give people a reason to play the game more than 1 time without resorting ROM hacks. B. Dificulty escaling. This would make the open world (or more like their dumb linear progression) by adjusting the lvls of the areas according to the trainers team, that way each time you play team you could personalize your adventure based on the order in which you decide to take on the gym leaders. C. Bring back the Battle Frontier. Need to say more?

Some thoughts: Open World: No, they just need to get better at it, it sucks in SV because they took a look at The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowinds map and said "Yeah lets emulate that" completely forgetting you have to awkwardly shuffle around Red Mountain to get places. Doughnut islands just suck in general, and aren't very good settings for open world games, and oddly enough both are set in one because it's the first truly open world game in their respective series. Voice acting: I do not trust GF with voice acting since the hidden audio files in SwSh where they make the pikachu's and eevee's voiceactors make oddly sexual noises, also pokemon should not say their name, that was a thing in the anime and barely ever in the games New Eevee's: The only one that's likely, if at all, to get added is a dragon type eeveelution as it was a special type pre gen4. hell why not have more rotom forms, it's not like they aren't shilled as much eevee is, why not a Bug type rotom that is a a Nintendo Switch playing the latest pokemon game to represent the bugs Masuda keeps shoving in our anus, the move you get for it's form will be Defend Order, symbolizing the braindead shills who defend GF's awful decisions, but it doesn't matter because we'll all buy it anyways! Showing stats: Each stat can be raised or lowered by 6 stages, each stage is equal to a 0.5 multiplier either + or -. the formula is 1 (base stat) * multiplier = total stats. Example: lets say you have a 200 in SPE with a +5 stage multiplier the formula would be 200 * 2.5 = 500 For crits, you have a base chance of 1/24, when you add a crit stage totaling 1 it's 1/8, a stage of 2 is 1/2, and anything 3 and over will always crit, crits also do 50% extra damage, they also ignore screen effects too Status effects, status effect activation depends on the move used so you have to look at each move individually, showing the rate of activation would be extremely great. How they work, burns deal 1/16 of your max health and half your physical damage so switch to a special attacker is possible (mixed attackers are garbage, they usually don't do either well), fire types are immune to burn. Paralysis has a 25% chance to cause the afflicted to lose their turn as well as reduce their speed stat by half, electric types are immune. Poisoned damages you by 1/8 of your max health each turn, badly poisoned adds an extra 1/8 each turn, poison and steel types are immune. Sleep, stuns you foe 1-3 turns. Freeze, if you see this in comp, make a wish, it's your lucky day! Realism: About the comment about the Pokedex, don't worry it's not canon, they're all written by the 10 year olds you play as :^) But in all seriousness they actually started putting effort into the dex since gen7, so the world ending shenanigans don't really appear to much anymore. basically, if it was written pre gen7 it's probably not accurate.
@juliogomez2534 Жыл бұрын
On the stats part, did you learn this from IN GAME information? No? Did you had to look it up and learn it from outside sources cause the developers were too busy adding dumb shit into the actual game instead of explain with the actual numbers how stuff works? Then yeah they need to add a library that has those values in game and forced people to look it up in third party sites.
@General_Degenerate Жыл бұрын
@@juliogomez2534 Yeah, and I said how it would be good if they added those stats.
@synysterdawn8913 Жыл бұрын
I disagree with point 5 to a degree. Having a good sense of ecology isn't a bad thing and can really add to a sense of exploration and discovery. It's not necessarily about realism given that we're talking about Pokemon, but keeping things intuitive and cohesive. Like, it would be silly to find something like an Abomasnow, a Grass/Ice type, in a desert or volcanic region. I think if we just started throwing random Pokemon around whenever, wherever, then we'd lose a good bit of what helps different regions and Pokemon feel so varied, unique, and mysterious.

Kinda in relation to 1, 3, and a bit of what you were saying in 4, it would be neat if there was a "Hard Mode", though I would rather call it something like "Tactics Mode". 1. Leveling does not affect stats, all pokemon are stat'd to Lv 50. EV still effects stats, so the "training" part of pokemon is far more technical than just level grinding. Leveling still effects moves, evolution conditions, etc. 2. Trainer battles are optional (and may have badge/pokemon requirements to prevent the player from being too strong/weak), prohibit items, and limit pokemon to an exact amount for both trainers. Most trainers will have a pool of 6 pokemon to chose from, and will use them as intelligently as possible. 3. In addition to the above 2., Gym Leaders scale their pokemon based on the stat total of the player's selected pokemon. They may also have a badge scale where they're limited in the Power of their moves. That means that for high stats/low badge battles they will rely heavily on status moves, and low stats/high badge battles they will use overleveled pokemon relative to their evolution line for high Power moves. 4. Based on XP rates, almost all wild pokemon have chance to be encountered at any level, barring level limitations. The exceptions would be things like legendary/mythical pokemon.

Unpopular opinion, but I’d love to see a combat system like ni no kuni where you can actually control you Pokémon in real time for once. I like turn based, but I’d like the idea of being able to control the outcome of battle outside of the rock, paper, scissors system.

I have to say I agree with pretty much all these points. I was so excited to finally get into Pokemon at Sw/Sh but I can confidently say I got here too late. There's so much potential (a lot that some fans have already tried their own hands at) for the future of this juggurnaut of a franchise but just watching GameFreak, Nintendo, and the Pokemon company fumble these games breaks my heart. I may have bought Scarlet already but I didn't think twice about skipping out on the DLC. Thank god for streamers and letsplayers.

I don’t know if this is in the video and I will edit this if it is. But I would love it if there would be a way to put your Pokémon at a max level like 60-65 for post game or dlc so you’re not going areas 30-40 levels over the rest.

Number 3 I have a few Japanese classmates, and also pay attention to people in Europe/Asia, and have seen how they discuss Pokemon. Its popular because it's in nostalgic series. The loud Pokemon fans are in fact part of the demographic, but are in no means the priority. Its just the comfort handheld game we can enjoy at any age, and no one expects or cares for it to be more. The demographics are the children who want to play a fun simple jrpg. The working man needing something to play on the subway. The woman that just like cute things. The nerds who talk about frame rates and the stuff on this list are definitely the minority

One thing to add, give me damage numbers! So many unnecessary textboxes could be saves by that and the pacing of combat would be a lot better. Because right now Pokémon has the slowest combat out of all JRPGs i ever played, even Final Fantasy 7 a JRPG from 1997 has better combat pacing than Pokémon S/V.

@flarfy90009 ай бұрын
Just stop making game-pausing text prompts for everything! They are annoying in combat and they are annoying in interacting with NPCs. Imagine if the Pokémon Nurse just said (with her voice) "Let me heal your Pokémon" - WHILE she popped balls into the machine. Ding ding ding-ding DING - "Your Pokémon are fit for fight! Have a nice day". Whole thing could take 4 seconds. The Pokémon Center staff isn't the problem - In fact I think they are good worldbuilding. The problem is that the whole interaction is so slow.

For a moment I thought you wanted to fire the employees at the irl pokemon centers (ie the official pokemon merch stores they have in New York and Japan) and I was wondering how they wronged you so hard lol
@Blade-hf9po12 күн бұрын
There's only 1 Eeveelution left though, they're probably saving it. Leave Nurse Joy alone, this is a Civilized Society. Orre is basically the Wild Wild West, of course no one is going to risk their life trying to care properly for the pokemon that show up to be healed.
@SingingInferno Жыл бұрын
The firing the pokecenter employees could even be used to create a fun scenario where like, you just got done with a tough battle and you think, "I'll just go to the next pokecenter" only to find out the machine is down and there's a mechanic working on it, and now you suddenly have a rival fight and oh shit, none of my boys are healed, aaaaaaaaaaaa! I wholly disagree with you on the open world though. I think all they need to do is simply make it so that every region scales to your number of gym badges. This allows you to go catch pokemon of different types by going to other regions early and makes it so that gym battles, trainer battles, and wild encounters are always at least somewhat challenging. I'm so sick of every pokemon game being boring as sin for the first 3 "routes" because it's nothing but normals and bugs. Also, LET US SKIP THE DAMN TUTORIALS. Ffs, I know how to catch a pokemon, shut up.
