Hi. Thank you for your videos. I watch already more one years. Your teaching is for advances learners now. You could make videos for less level. For example: geografy - describe country, establishing, the president, landscape. History - sightseeing, trip, turist guid, stop station, direction. Difrent holiday - vocation, mounthain, beach, lake. This topics are important repetition, repetition all time. You can give us homework in the end of video. Bye, bye Zdeňka

The explanation about the word CAST was good! we have this word in a book with the meaning of throw but there is no explanation that it is the figurative way. I didn't know it until now. Personally I think that beginners dont really need this word as they usually struggle with the basic word for throwing stuff.

Hi Mark, the topic is benefitial, but really advanced, like you've said. :-) We also have many expressions, how to use THROW, in our languague. I know only LOB very well from tennis, as we have a few top female tennis players and now Australian Open is going on and I love watching our tennists as Petra Kvitová ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/aKPIf5qoiJdnodE ), Karolina Plíšková, Kar. Muchová, Kateřina Siniaková, Vondroušová....:-)... And I know lobbying and lobbyists term quite well from a business and a politics :-( . And I like pelt, it's a nice word too. :-) In ČR here is a habit pelting eggs (mostly raw) on politicians on their meetings instead of tomatoes, they are sometimes used as well. :-) In the past it was worse then novadays in my country as politicians were thrown :-) from their windows down ",mostly from high buildings . :-) You can read more about it on Wikipedia. It was called Prague Defenestration. :-) . en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defenestrations_of_Prague PS: You could also finally read your comments (as usual) mainly - "Which country I am in?" and "Cannibalising" and "10 Meanings of BAG" . :-) . And please, don't disturbing me when I'm sleeping at my PC desk and don't pelting your coins on me. :-):-) :-) For next time,OK? :-) So take care Mark and enjoy your stay there in sunny Thailand, bye, Jarmila.

My homework💻 Before a hurricane hurled from the sky, tiny pebbles pelted my entire farm (lol.) So I get up on my feet quickly and toss every clothing I could find in a box and hand it over to my nephew. I was so pre occupied that I didn't see my neighbor slinged a rope to me to secure my things to the car while some men heave obstruction to the side to clear our way. The situation become so alarming that I told myself to focus on the road and cast my fear behind. And went we reached our destination safe, I throw a glance back to where we came from. 📝😀

'Fling' involves wrist movement. May I say, "I played Frisbee with my dog. I flung it too hard and it got stuck in a tree?" Is 'fling' natural to go with a Frisbee? The first time 'hurl' entered my memory was when I was reading a book mentioning the catapult. So the movement of the catapult is what I think of 'hurl.' Does it make sense? Thank you. The contents are amazing.

I'll never forget what 'pelt' means. Tons of thanks, Mark!
@Joe-ip2ky4 жыл бұрын
I ever heard the word whip, talking about the wrist shot in hockey, does it make sens ? In football they toss a coin to know which team will receive the ball first. I never heard about pelt before, but I can see myself pelting tomatoes to politicians who spend our money in bad ways. In sport again, as you said in the video, we hear that word in tennis, we’ve got some young Canadians very good at it on the ATP tour ;). With fling, the first thing that comes in my mind is when you ... fling a frisbee, am I right ? Sometimes I have to heave wooden logs when I work at my chalet. I can’t wait to cast my fish hook this spring then to reel it in with a fish at the end of my line. That’s about it for my today’s writing practice :). Thanks a lot Mark for these new words, I’ll try to pay attention for these words in m6 listening comprehension and to use them when needed. I got to watch the game now, I hope Montreal Canadians will fire a lot of pucks on the opponents goalie :). I know you cheer for the Flames, sorry ;) !

Hi Marc , when I hear Fling , I connect this verb with the Flingstones , 70’s cartoons of Hanna and Barbera. Any correlations? And for toss , I relate it to the coin toss before a match. Not to mention Lob , a typical strike in tennis
