My grandpa, who always wore sunscreen as soon as it came out, but he was already older, lost half his nose to skin cancer. My cousin, an OBGYN, developed a deadly melanoma that killed her uncle that she was lucky to catch before it spread. She’s a doctor but never thought about sunscreen. I thank Dr.Dray for making sunscreen interesting and attractive for people to encourage them to wear it. Through her I found more sunscreens I liked and *wanted* to wear. I am now teaching my daughter to wear it, despite objections from non-believers in the family, and I leverage Dr.Dray’s explanations all the time to justify it. So thank you Dr.Dray!

Non-believers? Do they not see the hyperpigmentation, sun damage and excessive wrinkles in aged skin? Sun screen can stave off aging and prevent disease. Why wouldn’t anyone want that?

@@21972012145525these people are everywhere. I personally know someone who aggressively spreads misinformation regarding sunscreens, causing skin cancer. You know their proofs? They used to apply sunscreens on a daily basis before discovering some eye - opening articles regarding correlation between sunscreen use and skin cancer formation. They quit their sunscreen cold - turkey, because "our skin needs to be trained to absorb the sunlight". Then they developed melanoma and and claimed that to be an accumulative sunscreen harm 🤦🏻‍♀️ (Apologies for my English, I'm not a native speaker)

I paid $5,000 for 3 treatments of Mopheus 8 on my jowls and my neck and didn't notice any change. Many years ago, I had Radiofrequency on my face and didn't work to tighten skin and didn't work. The only treatment that works is the deep CO2 Laser which I had that done underneath my eyes and it tightened skin and still looks flawless. I'm saving for a face lift, I'm not going to waste any money on any other treatments anymore.

Look in to skin brushing daily it is soooo effective. Start with soft body brush and work up to a hard brush to get the blood to flow into the loose skin.... Now will alll your loose go away probably not but it will be much improved for a 40-60 dollar brush.... It is also helpful to your Lymphatic system

I lost 130 lbs. I was heavy my whole life and I lost it in my 40’s. The most important thing is to continually remind yourself that you’re doing this for your health ! That will keep your head off swivel mode. Will you struggle sometimes? Sure! Cry it out if need be and get right on being positive. Don’t use a brush on your skin . Dr. Dray says that actually damages and making micro tearing in the skin. You are beautiful , strong and a warrior! Much love and prayers ❤️🙏🏻.

But here you stand with your skin is so delicate don't brush your skin....Loose saggy skin needs blow flow to tighten it. How do you encourage blood flow to those areas with out surgery brushing. My skin glows and it is tight. I have been brushing for over a decade. The woman who does my facials says I am aging backwards. Research and learn about old world techniques before you give out nutty advice. To be honest Dray skin is not great by any stretch.

Considering a face-lift lasts around 10 years and what it costs (and IF you find the right surgeon), I'd rather spend the money with a monthly facial, neck, scalp massage especially to relax (TMJ, eye strain...) and do some lymphatic drainage. Maybe alternate with other modalities each season (LED, microneedling...). But honestly, sometimes, if your sagging is just due to aging, it's better to just pamper yourself and get someone to help you relax rather than going down the hamster wheel of surgery...

@iss8504
@iss8504 Жыл бұрын
Dr.Dray is very wrong on autophagy and saggy skin. It depends on her definition of IF. If it's 18 hours if no eating, I agree, that won't work. But if you lose weight doing regular 42 hour fasts 3x a week, you will lose the weight plus the skin and the effect is even better if you add some dry fasting periods in there too. She's thin and doesn't treat obese patients. Dr. Boz has some videos on this showing photos of 50 pounds of weight loss with and without fasting and its a big difference.

@@Chris-oz9wxUnless Dr Fung has come up with a way to suspend gravity (which pulls the skin and underlying tissue down over time) then he is misleading you. intermittent fasting has benefits but it’s not going to negate skin laxity
@barbarafairbanks4578
@barbarafairbanks4578 Жыл бұрын
@irisk934 Yah, that's pretty ridiculous, considering that autophagy doesn't even kick in until the body's glycogen stores are depleted on a fast. We generally have about 36 hours if glycogen stores in our muscle tissue. So, IF is way to short a fast AND autophagy wouldn't firm the skin anyway!

Thanks so much for filling us in on all the procedures to help loose skin. I never thought I’d consider any type of cosmetic procedure, but…I’ve changed my view. I have loose skin mostly everywhere, but my lower face and neck are starting to bother me. Not liking what I see in the mirror so much. I’ve never been a really vain type person, but a little self conscious. I do all I can do with my skincare routine, but like you said, no cream or even retinal is going to tighten skin back to where it used to be, in our younger years. Thanks for debunking all the false claims that are made in the cosmetic industry. We want to believe in them, but at age 62, I know by trial & error, there’s no miracle cream out there. So sad, it would make life so much easier ! 😂😂🤣

I’m a 56 yr old guy. I’ve been very happy with the Inkey List products for the past several months. I could stand to lose 5-7 lbs though I’ve always been muscular from gym time . I had fatty liver disease and had to change my diet in order to get the liver healthy again. I had a bit too much sugar in my diet. The diet change caused quick weight loss and which in turn caused loose skin under my chin-the “turkey neck” thing. It bothers me so much that I’ve stopped socializing or even going out at much. Several yrs ago I did Sculptra. The results were nothing short of amazing. It caused a gradual filling in the cheeks, the temple areas, my skin looked years younger, healthy and “glowing”. The company claims that you can expect the results to last about 2 yrs and then you consider a second application in order to boost the collagen again. My face was plump and full for about 6 yrs but when it “deflated”, it did so very quickly. I’m doing another round in hopes that it can improve the loose neck area. I highly recommend Sculptra. Just make sure it’s an experienced doc. They have to be “artists” so to speak.

I prefer gua sha over any kind of facial massage, there's no pulling when the tool glides across the face and I can do it quickly when I'm in the shower and I've seen that there is a tightening effect, it's mild but it does make a difference, and my complexion looks much better. Retin A definitely helps my complexion and crows feet, there's been a huge effect on my skin, but definitely not so much on heavier sagging.

It happens that I' ve been accidentally and unconsciously mewing/face yoging/whatever-they-wanna-label-it since I was 4 yo😅. IMHO, constant proprioception of posture from head to toe isometrically contracted from an early age is gonna contribute to keep firmness and overall health at long therm more than starting facial exercises for some minutes when sagginess has already entered the chat and then spending the rest of the day hunchbacking without paying attention. Many many thanks for the info about red light, Sculptra, ultrasounds and microcoring. I' ll have a conversation with my derm in September😉. 🧛🏻‍♀️🖤

So appreciate this overview of what the options are and if they are effective. I just want to look my best. Not interested in surgery. Too many risks. Plus I've seen so many Hollywood people look plastic and some actually WORSE than they did before. 😮. Thank you!!!!😊

damn, i clicked on this video wanting to make my face look better. i've lost 170 pounds so far on my journey and it hurts to hear that nothing will work but probably better in the long run so that i'm not buying all these products and services thinking it will repair the damage only surgery could repair. That’s very useful. Thanks,Dr. dray! Can you introduce the face treatment particularly for the 30s? I am turning 30 this year. I felt my skin get little bit loose, and less collagens and I want to prevent saggy skin.

A Power plate stimulates,contracts, and relaxes muscles that are attached to bone. Can it be beneficial to skin health, tightening, blood flow, conservation of facial bone etc. I use one at the gym every time I go there. I think it works…….at 68 my skin looks really good.

Sculptra worked for me. Its important to go to someone who is very experienced because its long lasting. Its been very cost effective for me. A lot of dermatologists dont offer it but they usually know the best injector in the area. Its worth it to take your time to find a dr who loves it. Its not for everyone either. But if youve used fillers its worth exploring.

@@itsagoodday2165 Hi! I just started and had two treatments. But they’re not all gone yet. How many treatments did you have? I don’t have them all over my legs, but, I do have quite a few. I didn’t know it would take several treatments. But this Dr says he can only do ‘so much’ at one time. Kind of ‘wondering’ if he’s just wanting to make more appts. so more $$$?

One thing that always bug me is: how am I supposed to maintain/improve bone density in the face?! It is not like you can do weight lifting with the face 😅 I have seem some people recommend body strength training/weight lifting to improve bone health in general, but I thought this type of effect was more localised, through the stimulation of the muscle contraction on the bone where it is attached to, so doing a bunch of bar presses for exemple would have no effect on the face... Or it is more like a systemic effect? Improving bone heath every where in the body, including the face?
