A lot of stuff like Klonoa Volleyball was still being made for PS1 well into the PS2’s existence. Usually they were smaller games with niche appeal or geared towards younger players, so it was purely a cost-benefit decision for publishers. The PS1 was cheaper and easier to develop for, plus it still had a huge active user base so just about anything tied to a recognizable IP was likely to turn a profit.

No Dead or Alive beach volleyball then? Fair enough I suppose. And I know it's not a spin-off, but a part of an actual game. But I'd consider the 10 pin bowling game in Tekken 7 to be the actual best 10 pin bowling game ever. Never mind best bowling game that is an added game in another game. (I'm partial to Kazumi myself. Top score of 288 with her.)

It should feel natural to say "soccer" as a British person because the word is entirely British in origin. It's a play on the word "Association" as in "Association Football," the full official name of the sport. It was brought to the US by British people trying to promote the sport, but they needed a different name because America already had gridiron football. So while soccer was never more than a nickname in the UK, it caught on as the more common name in the US. Same thing happened in Australia as well since they also have their own form of Football. And Canada uses it more too because of both proximity to the US and their own gridiron football league.
