No wonder some Americans are having a hard time with their history and the truth. If this is what you all did to free black people, I would not be able to think what you all did to your black slaves. Not to mention the never discussed genocide of the native population. "History, its just one bloody thing after another."

The part on Rosewood was a little white washed. Many more people were massacred, and the movie refused to tell how when the people hid in the swamps children mostly where eaten by alligators.

Children weren’t eaten by alligators during the Rosewood Massacre. There was a documentary done on it back in the 90’s, and none of the survivors mentioned children were eaten by alligators, and I cannot find record of this.

Critics complain against public policies needed to address socio-economic disadvantages experienced amongst African-Americans by charging reverse discrimination, opposing reparation payments, affirmative action as a quota system for the unqualified. It really goes to animosity against Black people. Historical context doesn't matter to them.

I wrote this for Chicago but it's apropos here as well. I'm making a serious, important point in an uncensorable fashion. Read on: I think this would be a wonderful opportunity to pause for a moment and give thanks for the great contributions made by the black community to our society here in Chicago. Their peaceful and generous natures make them ideal neighbors, not to mention their exceptional family values, tight knit traditional families, and parenting skills unrivaled by any other culture. Their culture-wide commitment to academic excellence enriches our schools and serves as an example to all who hope to achieve prominence as a people. Real estate values are fueled by the mix of African Americans into an area due to the caring and respectful nature of their communities, all of which are shining examples of their achievements garnered through enthusiasm for self-improvement and hard work combined with their joyful, self-reliant can-do spirits. Without their industrious and creative drive, their edified and kind natures, the shining obvious example of their culture wide ethos, their stunning ability to police themselves and raise their children to be educated adults and people of substance, importance and inherent worth, we would most undoubtedly be poorer as a nation and a city.💪💪💪💯💯💯
@Peacekeepa317
@Peacekeepa317 Жыл бұрын
None of that would be possible without the peaceful removal of the people actually living there beforehand and the civic genius of great white leaders like the Daley's who held the city up with integrity and honor. Not to mention all of the law abiding citizens like Al Capone and Henry Holmes who showed us blacks exactly what civilized behavior looks like. We can't take all the glory here.
@Peacekeepa317
@Peacekeepa317 Жыл бұрын
And let's give a special shot out to the benevolent white benefactors who decided to do things like murder Fred Hampton who actually was bringing together poor people of different races, feeding poor black kids and curing addicts. Surely, it would be ridiculous to think things like that or redlining would affect the community now.

Too bad that African-American women have the most college degrees compared to other groups, keep most of the service and care industry running while raising children (often as single moms) and are at the heart of all activist groups these days. Does it make you feel inferior? That despite not only being held down by whites AND many black men, they achieve more than you ever will? Is the white d*ck pouty? ... Oh, and while we're at it. Congratulations to white American men for only amassing wealth by killing Native Americans and stealing their resources and land, by having women, slaves and immigrants do their work and by now waging wars against all countries that can provide them with oil and minerals and paying starvation wages. We should all stand in awe in front of the one group of people who still thinks they are to be considered superior for being lazy violent thugs.

And NOTHING was ever given to restore for ALL the towns and cities we built that they destroyed & massacred. No restoration of funds, and the government didn’t make the insurance companies pay for damages! After Slavery they stole through sharecropping and arresting family members to harvest their farms, no pay. Redlining and constant exploitation causing years of poverty! My parents’ generation wouldn’t ask for reparations, because they would’ve been lynched where they lived in the 30/40s. They paid the Slave owners and the Japanese, but paid us with more racism and exploitation!

@A_Chicago_Man though most of these murders derive from ignorance and the lack of self due to the poor educational system in alot of these areas and lack of african american history taught in the US, poverty, drugs, guns, trauma/unchecked mental illnesses, and dysfunctional households who may also suffer from everything I've mentioned before (remember its an ongoing cycle) not because of skin color or phenotype, much more has to be talked about regarding this topic other than just race because race doesn't play a factor into WHY these killings happen, unlike the killings mentioned in the video we're commenting under.
