Bubba Ho-Tep is a masterpiece. One of my favorites. Just watched it again the other day. Bruce Campbell is brilliant in that movie. He deserved an award IMO. Also, I never saw 3 From Hell, but always loved House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects. Really hoping we get both of those in 4k at some point.

@@bassage13 if you are being serious, just skim though a bunch of other people's reviews of it online....but I didnt say I hated the movie, in fact, I said it was ridiculous and fun but an obsurd premise and I wished it had more action in the first 2 acts of the movie like the final 25 minutes

“The Convent(2000)” was a good movie with Bill Moseley. It’s basically an 80’s Grindhouse style movie. They did a good job with that one.

Ahh man, I think you'd really like the first Saw if you give it another chance, it's actually a dark thriller more than the others and has way less gore, it's very clever and has one of the best twists at the end, plus the theme music is so good!!!

I just cant get into it...the whole aesthetic is off for me -same with J-horror films...it just doesnt fit my vibe for whatever reason

@@AVAPopCulture Would you say the same for the original Ring film? That has some crazy atmos, real sense of dread. If I'd have to add to your list of naff purchased horror films, I watched the Severin release of Nightmares in a Damaged Brain expecting some great carnage and loads of gritty shots of New York in the 80s but man was that a test of character, so boring and the killer leaves New York about 15 mins in 🙄

I've only seen Bubba Ho-Tep once but I thought it was pretty good. I think if you don't take it seriously at all you'll like it more.

There have been a couple of movies that I've seen that were so bad that, not only do I never want to watch them again...I didn't want that shit in my house! The Dark and the Wicked was the most depressing and nihilistic thing I've ever seen. I took it straight to the used book store. I have a feeling Hereditary hits a similar vein, so I've avoided that one out of the gate. 😳

Hereditary is extremely eerie. And I tell everyone, whatever you do don't watch Midsommer. It's the same director as Hereditary and it is warped. I saw Midsommer in theater, not realizing it was a horror film, and everyone was completely silent at the end. It's daytime terror and it's cult stuff. I'd rather have werewolves or Dracula.

hey everyone, I noticed the audio drifts off by about 1-2 miliseconds in some spots... I have no idea why, it is synced up in my editing system, it is synced up in the video I uploaded - so, I dont know if there was some kind of glitch in the upload or what but I apologize if it is distracting at any point...

I hear you about 4K pointing out the flaws in make up and such and it's almost distracting. The OG Twilight Zone is like that. You notice the strings and make up mistakes in Blu-Ray, so I can only imagine how much worst a 4K would be. Not a knock on 4K but not everything should or needs to be upgraded. Blu-Ray is often more than enough. Good list BTW.

I actually really liked Terror at Tenkiller. I just don't know if it needed a 4k. Saw, in my opinion is so much more than what most people think of when it comes to those kinds of movies. It's actually brilliant. There is a solid story, a whole cat and mouse chase throughout, and a mystery that when solved, has a helluva twist ending. The sequels became repetitive and boring pretty quick, but that first one is a gem! Great list!

Good insight. I have a 3 year Vinegar Syndrome subscriber. Mostly to support the work they do. For every stinker I find a surprise plus the art work is nice. Since I have it I keep it. I have a shelf with over 500 titles of VS releases.

I feel ya on “Saw.” But I love “The Grudge”, though I love J-Horror. They are not great horror, I have a warm place in my heart for “Mausoleum” and “One Dark Night”(starring a young Jennifer Tilly.)

Also, I've never thought much of The Grudge...I remember it being dull, maybe tedious. I've never liked the Saw movies but my friends sure did. Speaking of tedious, the last several seasons of AHS have been so extremely drawn out. Tiring. Always dropping storylines and feeling like the ending isn't even an ending. And sitting around talking talking talking. Give me some action.

For me it'd be Psycho 3, I was bummed that Diana Scarwid's character didn't have a better ending. But I love Psycho, Psycho 2 and Psycho 4. So glad the 4th touches on his teen years! Chase, I rented Friday the 13th 1 and 2 for tomorrow. 👍

I got a number of bad horror myself, sometimes it was that I remembered watching them when I was young to discover as an adult they were only stuck in my memory because they were so bad. I have owned Troll 2 on DVD long before it became internet famous, and that doesn't even come close to the worst I own. I would agree with you on all the sequels, but the first Saw isn't anything I would consider torture pron. I consider more like David Fincher's Seven then films like Eli Roth's stuff. It's not kills for no reason and everyone is given a choice to make in it, their decisions are what decides their outcomes. I remember the first time I ever saw Bubba-Ho-Tep at my brother's place on DVD when I was still in the Army. Not one I would ever buy but I laughed my butt off with that one. There is no movie that I could ever despise more than the same film that the guys over on Red Letter Media destroyed in a jar of acid and that's The Jar. I watched it once on VHS many years ago and it stuck in my brain forever as what could barely qualify as a movie. I can look past just being boring, that "movie" will leave you with a migraine wondering why you spent the time watching it. I would literally have more enjoyment watching paint dry, RLM did the world a favor by at least removing another copy of that from existence. It's not a joke, don't ever watch it and if anyone ever sends you a copy destroy it.

Bubba Hotep was fun in the last 35ish minutes for me and I am glad to have it in my collection but it would have benefitted from more action in the first 35-45 minutes in my opinion...but it and Hitcher in the Dark fall into my "will definitely watch again" category

I would actually give that 3 From Hell 4K a watch, the 4K looks really good even though it's an upscale. Hitcher in the Dark was ok, but the ending was a bit meh. It's amazes me how Linda Blair went from the Oscar nominated The Exorcist to movies like Sorceress or Night Force lol.

I have to be honest, I love some of the movies on this list. I know they are not good, I admit that, but there is just something about these movies that I love. Night of the Demon, Hitcher in the Dark, Terror at Ten Killer. I bought Terror at Ten Killer after watching it online. as there was just some kind of charm that got me, and the fact that this got a 4K release blows my mind. I had high hopes for Bubba Hotep, as I love Bruce Campbell, but it was a one and done watch, as I hated it so much, I never wanted to see it again.

Night of the Demon (in this video) was the only movie that I ejected from my player, after I finished it, broke it in half and threw it out. One of the worst movies I've ever seen. I think you need to give Saw another chance. There is a method to his madness, the first three Saw movies are a perfect trilogy in my eyes. I saw the Grudge in the movie theater and my friends and I all walked out. I agree with Bubba Ho Tep, it was a struggle to finish it and I will never watch it again.

The original Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl O Rama is one of my favorite movies from when I was a kid. The sequel looked so bad I didn’t even bother buying it. I absolutely adore Bubba Ho-Tep but I totally understand why you don’t like it. Nobody I know but me likes that movie

LOL Masterpiece is a stretch BUT I did have fun with it and now me and my son keep calling each other "some kind of'a Bubba Ho-Tep" in Bruce Campbell's voice so much that today on the Shocktober sale, my wife snuck and order the set for my son that was on sale for $19.99 with 2 posters in the set so that he and I could both have a poster LOL!!! so now, we will have 2 Bubba Hotep Posters hanging up hahaha! I just wish the first 45 minutes had as much action and fun as the last half hour or so! but it will be watched a -plenty!
