With this year marking the 10-year anniversary of the tragic mass abduction of Nigerian schoolgirls by Boko Haram on April 14, 2014, the world is reminded of the events that sparked the #BringBackOurGirls campaign.
Though global attention eventually waned, over 80 girls remain missing. Patience Bulus is one of the young girls who managed to escape, and is now studying in the U.S. She talks to Isha Sesay CEO of Areya Media, OkayAfrica’s parent company, who wrote the book, Beneath the Tamarind Tree, about the kidnapping and its impact.
Join us for a vital conversation about the ongoing fight to bring back our girls ✊🏾
