I definitely think all coaches and team captains should be cpr certified. This is a beautiful story as always. Her being disgusted by the coaches mouth to mouth is so innocent and cute

Here in America kindergarten is age 5 and 6 and our government could care less about kids in public schools. I highly doubt they’d ever provide cpr requirements in our schools.

My daughter suffered a near drowning when she was 6 and I had had numerous CPR courses prior to that. Let me tell you, though...when it's your child? All of that goes right out the window! Thankfully, there was a woman nearby who said, "Clear her airway" and as soon as she said that, it all came back to me. We got so lucky that day!

Where I live in the UK there are defibrillators mounted in parks. They are in covered boxes ready for use in an emergency. I know CPR & think the more people & kids of a certain age should take a class. God bless this coach & little girl❤🇬🇧

In Indiana we were CPR certified in 7th grade and then again in high school health class, which at my school could be taken at any semester in high school, but I don’t know how many schools require CPR certification. It’s very important!

My dad was a CPR hero. Some years ago, my neighbor came and pounded on our door in a panic because his 2 year old little boy was chocking on a cookie. I answered the door but didn't know what do to. My dad did teach me CPR, but, I couldn't remember how to do it. Then I remembered what my dad always said, "when you're in an emergency situation, don't panic. you're not helping anyone when you panic. Just think of what you have to do and do it." So, I went to get my dad. He came out and saved the little boy's life. It wasn't until later on I heard that my neighbors wanted to pay him back some how to thank him. But my dad just told them to pay it forward.
@DMoni29923 жыл бұрын
Wow. That is so kind. And yes the best payment is to pay it forward.

Wow! I pray she continues to grow strong and healthy! 🙏🏼💕 I did track too and found myself having to know when to rest as well during practice. It's definitely very important for all sports and fitness activities. CPR should definitely be required for all teachers, coaches and staff in schools ...and pretty much for everyone everywhere, because you just never know when a situation such as this one may happen. 🙏🏼 Lesson for today, resting is important and learn CPR, why not! 🤷♀️🙂🙌🏼

This is 2 years ago. My son plays high school sports and he has to have an ekg at the school (doc comes in) and pass a full physical for each sports season, so not just once a year if they play multiple sports. And I believe coaches have to be cpr certified. Its because of stories like this getting press that these changes are being made and kids lives are being saved!

What a wonderful man, haunted all those years by the memory of his fathers tragic passing, I hope by saving that beautiful girl it gives younger him some peace ✌ ❤ I saved my first borns life giving CPR age 5 he choked on a sweet no one else around but me, it took 7mins for the operator's to connect my emergency call and a further 30mins for paramedics to turn up and let me tell you those 37mins doing CPR on my own child is something you don't forget, evey blood vessel in his face broke covering his face in trapped blood like a spider's web under his entire skin and an irregular heart beat from the defibrillator being administered. I'm not sure how calm I'd be trying to save a stranger but thankfully my mother's instincts kick in that day keeping me calm enough to think and recall training we'd had in high school

There are some great things said by others about AED's and CPR but I would like to add to that. American Red Cross is teaching "hands only" CPR. This is of course to try to encourage people to at least try to do something to save the person. This is to address those who are afraid of doing mouth to mouth for fear of diseases being transmitted. I'm not criticizing this but understand that this method is only good for 1-2 minutes at best with what ever residual oxygen is in their blood stream. This is better than doing nothing, but it is only a very short stop gap measure until there is an AED at scene. If you google this, you will see the information. The other things have to do with places that do have AED's. For those who have AED's that are rechargeable it is important that you keep them charged. The other thing that is important is there are expiration dates on both the batteries and the defibrillator pads. Last but not least is that if this is a school or work environment make sure that people know where the AED's are located so that they can get to them quickly.
