I bought this for my friend for his birthday as we just moved into a new house and he finally has room for a workshop. The bench was very easy to set up kzbin.infoUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh They center support is a little difficult to snap in and out of place at first but at least then we know the bench is secure. It was a pleasant surprise when we saw it came with clamps. I apparently missed that in the description. My friend loves the versatility of the bench. Great starter bench for his workshop and easily transportable all over our property. I wish the bench was a little taller but the other features of the bench more than make up for that.

Totally awesome machine. One of the instructors at Red Rocks Community College (great Fine Woodworking and Lutherie programs) has his day job at a custom cabinet shop. and they have a vacuum assist that will pluck a sheet off the stack and you just guide it into position. It is just mind-blowing that you can pull vacuum through an inch-thick piece of MDF. Though, at our altitude, we can only pull about 20-22 in Hg, but it is better than using screws and clamps to hold your work.

If your old cnc gave you ovaled holes, there was a problem with that machine in my humble opinion. I have a cnc I'll have up and running in a couple of weeks that uses that same Becker vacuum hold down pump. Becker says the exhaust is around 300°. You wont need heat in your shop in the winter lol.

Nice machine, lets hope the whole spindle head doesn't fall off the ballscrew and end up on the table like our $ 120000 + biesse did. Something which is apparently impossible to happen. Still don't know if biesse will come to party with this major design flaw.

Hi Ron, The store links are working. It is on your end and either pop up blocking or ad blocking. If you are using Chrome, it seems to have the issue more than others. TKS Ron
@thallmeister
@thallmeister 6 жыл бұрын
Each item is a link to an Amazon store, ad blockers won't let you see them because essentially they are ads. If you want to see his stuff, just whitelist his site or that page. Ron Paulk, maybe you can add a little note at the bottom to disable ad blockers to view the page. They also have some java plugins for detecting ad blockers and giving a warning. On a side note, I like that you endorse the aftershokz headphones. I have 6 different pairs (a few of each style), they are awesome for having music and still hearing your surroundings and/or tools. Trekz are the best though(comfort and durability 8+ hrs a day), even if the Bluez 2S are a bit louder and the batteries last longer.

Ron, Great progress. Now using CAD programs your bench design can be altered to suit different uses. I have available a 4×8 ft CNC router table through a local Maker shop, maker-works.com. [BTW a great idea for anywhere] What CAD file formats are you distributing? Given a common CAD file type, I can then edit the design & then produce a CNC file. Then cut process is simulated & edited prior to actual production. All of these are open source programs & both the program & source codes are free downloads.

how is something 5 times faster if you are using 3 instead of 1 endmills at the same time?
@TheSmartWoodshop
@TheSmartWoodshop 6 жыл бұрын
Trever explained it in the video. We are now using (3) 20 mm forstner bit vs a 1/2" bit making a 20 mm hole. 5x faster on the holes and 3x for the whole bench is a conservative estimate when you add in the load time with the pop-up posts and the more sophisticated cut software.

I don't recognise that exact model but this one does a similar job. It's from Germany so it might be a bit of a job to get it to the US www.beck-maschinenbau.de/en/produkte/arbeitstische-hoehenverstellbar/2012-11-05-12-33-41/niveau-hs-300-midi It has a scissor lift so you don't have to throw your back out like the operator in this video!

@Crewsy

Why not? Why doesn't it seem right to be accurate to a micron? Microns are a very common unit of measurement in anything built with precision and now that accuracy is rolling over into woodworking equipment and tools.

What I'm saying is a millimetre doesn't normally get broken up by thousandths, an inch does but not millimetres
