@NessNoldo3 жыл бұрын
@Garrus Vakarian I enjoyed every game with that feature and was not painful at all, and I know a lot of people that loved it too. "Painful'' is such a big word and sometimes people just make a big deal from nothing. Did you know you can use the Wii Mote barely moving the thing, instead of doing the movement like if it were real? Yeah, I mean: you don't have to make a blade slash like if the Wii Mote were a real sword. That's just stupid and something only casual players would do or complain for. Just emulate the movement. Don't complicate yourself. I still play on the Wii and the games were Wii Mote is well implemented are the best.

For some of my favourites that weren't mentioned- Kororinpa 1 & 2/Marbles! Balance Challenge - A uniquely intricate take on a Marble Madness style game. Works beautifully with the Wii Remote's tilt controls, showing that even the base remote can do 1:1 gyro tracking. The levels get really challenging, and you might need to hold the controller upside-down in some sections to keep going. Really scratches an itch I'd had for decades beforehand. Go Vacation - There's a Switch port of this now, but I think it's still worth mentioning as a highlight of the Wii library. It simulates four kinds of holiday resort for you to roam around and discover hidden secrets at will. You can drive cars, skateboard and ride horses, alongside taking part in around 100 minigames that include simplified versions of Namco classics like Ridge Racer and Taiko no Tatsujin. The soundtrack's full of laid-back arrangements of deepcut Namco tracks too, for hardcore fans. Tomena Sanner - A chaotic WiiWare autorunner that carries a lot of the humour and energy of Project Rub, as well as resembling its art style. A fun little game that's easily worth a shout. Super Mario All Stars - This was met with a lot of cynicism at launch, but that shouldn't distract from the quality of the game, especially when you can regularly find it selling for pennies. Super Mario Bros 1, 2, 3 and "The Lost Levels" (The Japanese SMB2), all remade for the 16-BIT SNES, and featuring save functionality for the first time. There are more practical options for many people looking to play this, but if the Wii is your only Nintendo console, it's well worth picking up. If you have other platforms, it's still a fun novelty to have this on a Wii disc. Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo - Nowhere near as good as the GBA's Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure, but a similar 2.5D action platformer that carries a lot of the whimsy and energy of early Dragon Ball. The Red Ribbon and King Piccolo sagas translate well to this style of gameplay, and there's been a great deal of care taken to present the story faithfully, with voice overs from the Japanese cast of the anime. A bit niche, and not essential, but a treat for fans of early Dragon Ball.

Can I ask (I don't know if you'll read this but fingers crossed for good luck) that everyone of you does this here and there when you have say: - 10 epic games for an old/new console - 10 Favourite games we might not know about etc etc. you kind of get the idea. I'm saying 10 because that would limit the video time to maybe 5 minutes or so, providing you guys more time to talk about these games and a bit more depth while also keeping it pretty honest and unscripted. That's just my thought on this video style but I have to say I love it!!!

I have to say, my favorite Wii game is probably Fishing Master, developed by Hudson Soft in 2007. The Wii has one of my favorite libraries of Nintendo games: Punch-Out, DKC Returns, Mario Galaxy 2, Pokemon Rumble, Pokepark, and so many more, but Fishing Master remains my favorite. It’s basically a fishing minigame expanded out: fish pokedex, so many real and fake fish to catch, a great soundtrack, simple and fun motion controls, and a touch of random humor makes it the top for me
@princegroove Жыл бұрын
Sure, the majority of the more realistic games look natively muddy on HD TVs but the first party studios achieved visual magic.

Very impressive stuff Jon. A few notable omissions: Rock Band 3 Tiger Woods 2010 (or 2011 or 2012, i.e. the ones that worked brilliantly with the Motion Plus) Wii Fit Tetris Party (shocked that you missed that one out being such a Tetris fan) Also Trauma Team never came out in Europe and the launch window Trauma Centre game was Trauma Centre: Second opinion.
Another Code R's music is wonderful indeed. The whole series (all two games) have a beautiful soundtrack that is unlike anything else I've ever heard.

Everytime I see people talk about The Conduit and not Conduit 2 I feel so sad. I'd argue that it is a Top 10-15 Wii Game at the very least and is the best FPS on the console (not counting Metroid.) It is one of the best hidden gems on Wii, and the production value is incredibly impressive. I highly recommend that over the first game by a long shot.

The fact that you can play 2 with a classic controller makes it automatically makes it better than the first

@@ja-nathen IMO the Wiimote+nunchuck is vastly superior to Analog (I think there were tests done back in the day showing that the Wiimote was close to Keyboard and mouse in accuracy.) The fact it gives more control options is still nice though. I would love an HD Switch port with Gyro controls as an option.

Xenoblade is my favourite game of all time, and it was a Wii title that came out late in the console’s lifespan. I will always have a soft spot for this console, namely for how different it was to other consoles. The controller was designed to play in each hand so you could finally play games left handed. It was the first nintendo system to be fully backwards compatible, and have a virtual console which is how I experienced Ocarina for the first time.
