One thousand main characters each with Simo Hayha-levels of aim, the durability of a light tank, the speed of an ATV, the stealth of a jungle apex predator, several times the combat experience of the most hardened Navy Seal, and the individual firepower of an entire mechanized platoon. 2:33 - "This ride" is actually a boarding torpedo. Yes, not a boarding _shuttle,_ a boarding _torpedo._ The Astartes didn't _fly_ to the enemy ship, they were _shot at it._ Because that's just how Astartes do. 3:40 - These guys have a bit of a superficial resemblance to Necron Pariahs. Obviously they can't actually be Pariahs, since Pariahs are Blanks, but the slight visual resemblance is there. 8:30 - There was a quote in one of the novels, maybe it's a recurring bit, where a Guardsman watches Astartes in combat and comments that "Nothing that big should be able to move that fast." Also, if I recall correctly, the Tau don't classify Astartes as infantry, but as _light tanks._ 8:52 - That's a plasma pistol. Plasma weapons are good against heavily armored enemies and light vehicles. Too bad these guys have an Invulnerable save. 11:49 - That's an Inquisition sanctioned psyker. He's monitoring the captive. Sanctioned psykers are able to actually fully control their powers; being in the Inquisition with any rank instead of being part of a Battle Squad means this guy is at least a Delta-grade psyker. 12:40 - Notice how the floor is frozen. Unnatural cold is one of the signs of Chaos presence. 16:20 - The creator has provided a transcript of the dialogue in a Reddit comment. "...no escape. I have failed brother." "We have all failed. The Astartes deny our touch. You must return, break your seal." "Impossible, (I) will never survive." "You must! Take them!" The psyker shouted "Recall them immediately!" and then the captive entity tried to possess him to attempt to escape. 17:50 - Here we see a textbook execution of "Exorcism Protocol". 19:07 - Oh, you better believe it. 20:35 - This is happening in the Warp, and that's the actual form of the sphere. The creator hasn't confirmed anything, but they're hypothesized to be either Umbra or Yu-vath. The black shadow is a Warp entity that _totally_ just ate it, which severed its connection to the Marines and caused them to get dropped back into Realspace. 20:56 - The value of the service studs varies depending on the Chapter, but by the most common "Silver=50 years, Gold=100 years", this Marine has served for at least 200 years. 21:23 - If you look very closely while the camera pans around, you can see the rest of the squad appearing on the other pillars. 24:30 - The Imperium considers a single Tactical Squad sufficient to put down a planetary rebellion.

a few things - The duo that the astartes fight that are Psykers - they are LOW LEVEL psykers, basically just above regular human Psykers. Thats how insanely scary W40K's brand of "space magic" is. on a Tier List they'd rank around C or D, with basic human psykers being D or E. Astartes Psykers are like A, with grey Knights and Chapter/Legion Chief Librarians (like Njal Stormcaller from the Space Wolves) being S rank, and the Emperor himself being SSS rank. Thing of the scale as a MAGNITUDE, like the earthquakes scales we use to measure. It's multiplicative, not additive... Lol. Also - That's NOT a mechanicus member. Its wearing The "I" symbol for the INQUISITION. Mechanicus wear the Cog-Skull symbol. It's probably a lower ranked Inquisitor, who is a Sanctioned Imperial Psyker. (so trained well to use their powers) he himself is probably a "B rank" on the Psyker scale I mentioned. (it's not an official measurement system btw, there is no "psyker teir scale" in lore... just for ease of explanation).

The inquisitor guy was the reason the astartes squad wasn't held perpetually in that warp space. He did get taken over but it was only because he chose to go on the offensive instead. That was the black attack/aura that broke the tentacle warp creature's hold on them. He destroyed the other target that he was eavesdropping on in exchange for not protecting his own mind/body from the closer one. Truly a hero.

Horus Rising is a great starter book, but it's 30k instead of 40k so a bit different sometimes. If you want to really dive into lore too I can't recommend Arch (Used to be ArchWarhammer but changed his name to just Arch) highly enough. I consumed literally dozens of hours of his lore videos when I first got into 40k and it gave me a great springboard into everything else. When you're ready for a comedic, but lore friendly, take give "If the Empreror had a Text-to-Speech Device" a go. It's frickin hilarious while still all being basically lore accurate.

Warhammer is actually designed to support fan creation, for example with the space marines it’s believed that there are 1000 chapters. Each chapter is an independent group of 1000 astaries lead by their chapter master. Of the ones we know are the 9 loyal first founding chapters (those are the remanence of the legion lead by the primarchs who would all eventually disappear after the horus heresy) and around 100 others which we have official paint schemes for, the rest of the space exists so people can make up there own chapters. One final thing is geneseed, it is the first organ implant space marine recruits get and its what causes to 1 become a beast and 2 become like there primarch (the geneseed is a mix of emperors and primarchs dna) successor chapters get there geneseed from first founding chapters, hence are successors and they usually end up with a mix of traits from their forbears which is really fun

The guy connected to the orb was psyker of Inquisitorial origin (either and Inquisitor or just someone working for Inquisition) - big "I" on his robes confirmes that; also the lack of mechanical tentacles ;). He was listening into Orbs communication - the one they got into custody earlier and have on their ship, and the other the squad we were seeing tried to seize. He warned them about danger for the squad ("recover them immediately" or something other of sort, muffled so no certainty for exact words), but lost focus and orb used it to overload his mind and open it for warp to destroy him.

Astartes really does a good job of showing just how terrifying Space Marines are in lore. The shear level of casual efficiency the Retributors display when fighting regular humans, the weight and power given to them in their steps and movements. It takes a squad, a squad, to clear a rebel ship. And the only thing that even slightly slows them down is a pair of juiced up psykers who can physically freeze them midair...but even then they can only really temporarily stop ONE of the Space Marines. The instant the numbers are equal, the Space Marines win so easily.

@Snow-Willow8 ай бұрын
@@trekkieraccoon3343 A lot of it is the phrasing of documents leading up to the current recon. Custodes were always referred to as "Sons", and a "Brotherhood", and rules books as far as as the 80s specify them as "men" (example of one such line "These men never leave Earth[....]). You also have to take into account the political climate this change came in. Until just this year there have never ever been even so much as mention of a female Custodes, given that this franchise is almost 40 years old they've had plenty of time to do so, and since we live in the era of DEI it makes it painfully obvious that this is a retcon for the sake of "inclusivity" pandering.

Break your seal. O2: It's impossible. O1: We will never survive. O2: You must. Take their bodies

additional info, and hard to notice details In the flashes of the autocannon firing, you can see a spacemarine about center frame getting closer each shot. The guy who tries to sneak up on the spacemarine and gets stabbed was caring an anti-tank mine. The gun he uses on the multi-laser is a plasma pistol, insanely powerful but they have a heating issue that can cause them to explode, something the marine intentionally tries to do at the end against the ball. the 'I' with the skull on it is the logo of the inquisition, they are probably an inquisitor or a Sanctioned Psyker (a psyker who has received training and useful enough to live) Not sure what the balls are, but they seem warp related so I assume what the marines inject into it is blank blood, which would eventually neutralize it or at least cut it off from the warp, making it safeish The balls when talking to each other, cant remember the whole thing, but its something along the lines of, "we have all failed" "break your seal" "I would never survive" "TAKE THEM" the psycher warns the commander, breaking concentration and gets possessed. They kill him as soon as he cant be saved, as a strong psycher possessed by a high ranking daemon is essentially a demigod, they shoot up the corpse because if you leave it intact daemons can still use it as a door The ball drags the 5 marines into the warp, something hits the warp body killing? it, (possibly the overloaded plasma shot?) and it drops the marines throwing them out of the warp onto wherever the planet with the giants skeletons is, right in the final few seconds with the wide shot you can see the flash of the other 4 marines arriving on other pillars.

'In the warp a giant stirred; an image flickered through a mind larger than a nebula. The sleep of Gork was troubled. In his dreams he wore a metal body and led his children to victory. The dream lasted a brief instant of long eternity, something about it caused Gork to smile but not to rouse. In the warp Mork too was disturbed. He dreamed of war spreading like a green stain across the galaxy. He saw billions of his children following giant warmachines built in his crude image on a great crusade. He found the dream good. And slowly his vast mind moved towards wakefulness. Gork and Mork stirred. Their dreams reached out and touched the dreams of their people. A billion Orks turned in their sleep; suddenly, inexplicably infected by scenes of slaughter and reaving, plunder and the taking of worlds. When they awoke they looked on their surroundings and found them dull. Gork struggled towards awareness. After centuries of dormancy it was a long process. He sensed other Powers in the warp trying to interfere. He blocked a subtle tendril from Slaanesh, ignored a baleful warning from the Emperor, discounted the triumphant cry of Khorne. He reached out with his millennia-old mind and gathered the strength of his people. Soon he would be awake and active. A body of steel had been prepared for him. A time of blood and iron was approaching. As Mork gathered strength many a Warboss found himself afflicted with thoughts of power. Ancient ambitions were re-kindled. Long vanished thoughts of conquest stirred in the recesses of slow minds. They planned raids on nearby Humans and toyed with thoughts of alliances with old rivals. Not even great soul-searching could explain why this was so. The Ancient Powers knew what was happening, though. The Waa-Ork was coming. Gork and Mork stirred and a wave of fear passed through the warp. Suicide and incidence of violent crime climbed steeply. On Icolbar an Astropath screamed and threw himself from the balcony of a starscraper apartment, yelling that his people were doomed. On the craft-world Hope of Other Days, an Eldar philosopher stopped listening to the atonal music of his water-chimes and began composing his death-haiku, feeling his life had been justified. On distant Earth, a living corpse in a golden throne opened eyes that held fear for the first time in centuries. Gork felt his attention being tugged towards one tiny world on the edge of Orkdom. A strange attraction drew him to it. He leaned down from warpspace and looked upon it. His breath brought storms in the Ash Desert. His gaze caused machines to break down. His lightest tread brought earthquakes. Seeing the disruption he was causing among his people he withdrew. He knew the time was not yet right for his return. He withdrew but he left a message. Mork moved on the face of the warp, brushing aside Daemons and ignoring ancient barriers set by long dead Gods. He moved from world to world and placed in the heart of every Ork the desire to be restless, to move, to follow the siren call of adventure when it came. He sensed other Powers subtly striving to oppose him and laughed as their attempts to restrain his crude, irresistible purpose. The Emperor knew that he must save his people. If Gork and Mork unleashed their hordes then any unprepared worlds would be swept aside by a green tide of death The Emperor bent his thoughts to the task. Across Human space, within the range of the Astronomicon, Imperial Tarot began to foretell disaster. Commanders consulting them found all the signs of impending catastrophe on a cosmic scale. In the Segmentum Obscura, Battlefleets were recalled and prepared for war. On the homeworlds of the Adeptus Astartes, Space Marines reached for their weapons, knowing their time of destiny was near. On the edges of the Eye Of Terror, the Orders of the Adeptus Titanicus roused their ancient war-machines. Having surveyed his Empire and seen it was ready the dying immortal within the Golden Throne prepared himself for the conflict to come. Gork and Mork knew that they were ready. Their people were agitated and prepared for battle The Emperor, their chosen enemy, had deployed his forces. The first skirmishes had been fought, now war was about to be joined. Beyond them they sensed the Chaos Powers watching, waiting to see what advantage the God-brothers' actions might bring them. In the darkest pits of creation twisted creatures prepared to follow the Orks' advance. Gork and Mork did not care. They knew they were strong enough to resist Chaos. The time was right. The time was now. It was time for Gork and Mork to have some fun. In the Warp Gork and Mork waited, well pleased. Across the face of a million worlds their children were on the move, a green tide that would topple empires and re-shape the Universe. The Waa-Ork was on the move.' I will post this on all of your videos until you watch Baldemort's: The Secret History of the Orks.
