Well they would not lose warp travel completely, they would just be crippled in terms of making long range jumps... but like every other warp traveling alien faction they could still make short jumps through the warp... this is way slower however and the Imperium of man is just far too large and spread out to continue functioning with this limitation imposed. Aaaand yeah Terra would be fubared along with everything in that system in short order.

Also, there are some spin-offs, specials, .5 episodes, shorts, and Vox-Casts for this 30-episode series... and it's all canon with a proper timeline of events. My advice: stick to Alfabusa's master playlist to get the full experience, and you'll be good. Especially as the podcasts called "Voxcasts" are deep-dives into lore, with Episode 3 covering the first 40k novel... and how tremendously cursed and awful it is.

If your curious to get more lore about the Imperium (I just watched your 40k timeline video) I suggest watching Isyander and Koda and their video on the blood angels as it explains one of the interesting points about religion in 40k. Remember Guilliman has been brought back in the lore but the imperium still believes the empower is a god. The blood angels videokinda explains why, though it is just them talking and occasionally showing pictures. Another thing is that the fight between Horus and The Emperor has since been changed and that explains a lot of the things about The Emperor in the current setting. I'd recommend Majorkill's video on the new ending and his explanation about the dark king as it has been implied that The Emperor has actively sabotaged any attempt to get him out of his skeletal state and the dark king video explains why.

8:10 The Emperor was heavily wounded spiritually not just physically. Perpetuals can also take a long time to respawn, especially if they are heavily wounded. Malcador was also holding back literal hell from streaming through the webway gate which would turn Terra into the Eye Of Terror 2.0 He was not going to hold out for ten more minutes than he did, much less the hours or days it would take Big E to regenerate if he even could being so spiritually damaged. They put him on the Golden Throne on Big E's request, he knew that any other option would doom humanity if not only cause the Astronomican would go away with Terra. So there was no other choice than the Throne, anything else would doom humanity beyond recovery, at least the way it turned out the species has had ten millenia to live, that's hundreds of generations where statistically, a lot of them were able to live happy and peaceful lives, if not easy ones.
