After conquering the Arctic in Vintage Story, I set on a sweaty adventure in the Desert. There are 99 problems: including crop failures, desert predators, nasty drifters, massive cave-ins and many other obstacles to overcome. Will I survive in the desert heat or succumb to this harsh environment. If this interests you. Join me, we have a desert to conquer.

That was a fun adventure! I enjoy your dedication to getting an aesthetic build done AND getting to steel, all in under 100 days. I think the QPTech Chisel Tools mod would help facilitate your detailing phase, though, and might let you fit in a lot of the details that you said you wished you could have gotten to! :)

@@Oscillascape :D I like to see what everyone else is up to, too! I highly recommend Chisel Tools. It literally makes chiseling like 20x faster, when you're doing projects with large amounts of similarly-shaped blocks.
@Oscillascape
@Oscillascape 3 ай бұрын
@@Kurazarrh Yes, vanilla way of doing chiseling is a bit tedious. It's OK for one off creative piece, but if you need a lot of repeating patterns it gets a bit much. Not sure what mod adds but having a pattern selector like when you are doing clay and custom voxel brushes would be dope, along with an ability to replicate simple designs faster.
@Kurazarrh

I'm still in the first few minutes of the video, but I had to post an "oh no" when I saw you cut off the tops of those saguaro cactuses... they don't grow back! You need to just hold right-click down on the fruit part that's on the very top of the cactus. Though please do correct me if I'm wrong and they do grow back...
@Oscillascape
@Oscillascape 3 ай бұрын
You might be right about them not growing back. I didn't know about being able to collect them by hand. Also it's a real shame you can't uproot Saguaros to plant elsewhere. Should be a feature!!
@Kurazarrh
@Kurazarrh 3 ай бұрын
@@Oscillascape It would be neat to be able to replant saguaro, but it wouldn't be realistic. They are apparently EXTREMELY slow-growing. So maybe planting & growing them like they're trees, with growth times on the order of redwoods, might be appropriate.
@Sarafimm2
@Sarafimm2 3 ай бұрын
It would be great if VS had prickly pear cactus in addition to saguaro. In the right environment, prickly pear will grow quickly and create a ton of fruit. Had it in front of my house in California and we had some neighbors stop by every time it fruited asking if they could harvest the fruit. We got cactus jelly each time as a thank you gift. Ayyyeee did my man get a new mic or what? Sounds much clearer than your other 100 days vids for VS. I'm a fan of your videos, you fill a niche for me. There isn't really a whole lot of edited content for this game at the moment, it's mostly just long-plays and livestreams which are nice and all but VS is a slooooooow game, so its not exactly the most engaging watch when unedited IMO.
