Spiritomb's "B Cancel" attack is indeed a reference to pressing B to cancel an evolution in the Main Series Pokemon games. What Mikey failed to notice, however, is the effect of the card, which prevents your opponent from evolving their active pokemon during their next turn. You could think of it as when my brother B Cancelled my shiny rayquaza and released it from its box Also, Everyone Explode Now is a reference to Everybody Dance Now.

Hey I remember building a deck around that Forretress card back in the day because I found that attack amusing and you actually can make it do a considerable amount of damage if you use Forretress G the SP card and various SP cards to search them. You also could use the Bellossom that was in this video to heal some of the damage the Forretress take.

It didn't refer to the gun itself, but rather the speed at which the gun can fire off attacks. Same with "Machine Gun Stomp".
