I love watching large families but the one thing I see repeatedly is the girls are usually the ones in the kitchen. Single mom of two sons boys need to learn how to clean, cook, sew, so very important. My oldest son is married with kids and his wife was not taught to cook and clean thankgod he does know how.

I went to college with a girl who came from a family this big. She wasn't allowed to watch TV or read a book that wasn't approved by her parents, so when she got to college, she had no idea how to exist in the real world. She ended up being used and abused by some married guy looking for a cheap thrill. She left college utterly broken.

A little tip for saving tomato paste, apple sauce, stock etc is to freeze in ice cube trays. When it is frozen pop them out into a freezer bag. Then you can take out only the amount you need so no waste.
