Welcome to our country! ❤ Çırağan Palace is one of the most expensive places in Türkiye. Usually rich families have their weddings here. Or students from private schools that the very rich attend have their graduations here. If you really want to experience Istanbul I recommend that you choose places that locals go to, not places that tourists go to. There are fewer tourists on the Anatolian side than the European side and it is quieter. You can travel more comfortably there 😊

@yelizkaran-sg4zoАй бұрын
@ I’m a local and I stayed there. It’s not that expensive for the location. Location is unique. Çırağan is the best and the biggest, plus the only palace hotel in the Bosphorus. Four Seasons and the Peninsula are more expensive than Çırağan although their premises are not as beautiful as and as big as Çırağan. Of course, you can find tons of luxurious options both in İstanbul and in other cities in Türkiye. But the experience would not be the same. You can’t compare a Bosphorus palace hotel in İstanbul with a regular 5 star hotel in another city. Other hotels may suit your likings better, but they are not objectively better than Çırağan as far as premises and location are concerned.

For those who think it is expensive compared to its price, I say: Çırağan Palace is the most rare historical ottoman empire Palace in Turkey. It is the largest and most valuable historical palace on the Bosphorus. This palace, which belonged to Sultan Abdulmecid, was decorated with rare marbles and works of art brought from all over the world. It is one of the most important works of 17th century Baroque architecture.

Hotel is built in the garden of one of the lesser palaces in Istanbul. After the Proclamation of the Republic of Turkey, Atatürk made the garden a public place, when I was a child (in the 70s and 80s) there was a stadium and a public swimming pool. The hotel was opened in 1990. We used to attend posh high teas there, now it's waaay more expensive. There are many schools on that street, aligned with the palace, all with a quay.
