I shot a doe two years ago with 1025 grain Grizzlystik just for the fun of it. Blew right through her. It was pretty underwhelming. I have them for the safari my wife won't let me go on unless I take her to Paris. 😏 Yep, that aint happening.
@josephporfido24335 ай бұрын
I'd like to ask you about that arrow. I got my hands on the grizzlystik momentum TDT 170s and I wanted to build a stupid heavy arrow similar to that. What bow specs, point weight, and shaft length did you use?
@michaelvstheworld36805 ай бұрын
@josephporfido2433 First, what is the draw length and weight on the bow you intend to shoot them out of?

I recently appreciated the benefits of a collar on arrow after hitting a rock mound behind target. I was able to continue to sight in bow at 60 yards with same arrow. Test different manufacturer’s collars/outserts durability against rocks or concrete. Loving the lab series!!

Love your videos, very educational. I was wondering if you could make a video on arrow tuning and what happens if you dont cut your arrow what happens to the arrow. Also how does adding weight too the front affect arrow flight.

I have my Hoyt Trykon set up with an 825 grain that has a 250 grain cutthroat single bevel all on 200 shaft. Shoots 210 fps. Bow is Super SUPER quiet! It's dead nuts out to 50 yds. I never felt a difference in the way the bow shot (jumping out of my hand) when I went up in weight. I just have to make sure my targets are well supported or it will knock them clean over. I've had so many comment about "longer time" ( only adds a couple 100ths to a 10th of a second to Time-to-Target). Or if I miss judge distance. ( If I miss judge by 5 yards it's low/high by 2 inches... practicewith it all the time) I just absolutely love how quieter the bow is, and I can tuck the arrow up forward on the deer without ever worrying about a bone.

Go get the fairy! I really do think the industry needs to be pushing heavier arrows in general. Would be interesting to compare crossbow speeds with a 1,000 grain arrow too (like a tenpoint nitro) to see the efficiency differences. I did a penetration test between 866 and 1782 grain arrows. Results were staggering here > kzbin.infoS_46YgYRcbw?si=pRllFnzME6n-3oB6
