Absolutely loved the video! Love that you start us with a history lesson! And I love your quote about "must be seen..." I often feel that way here in CO too-the camera never really does it justice! Good work in the technical section, with proper experience, and knowing your limits, you can reach some pretty amazing places. There's risk in everything we do, just how we mitigate what we can and accept what we can't that matters. Glad you got some alone time, you put in a ton of work for your family and viewers. I for one, appreciate it!

You will miss so much on the first visit that you will have to go back. Thanks for taking us along!!! Side note, you will come to a point in your life where your enjoy doing these things by yourself. Be glad you arent there yet and enjoy your family while you can! Thanks for taking us along for the ride.

Awesome video Nate! I am 69 and have been off roading for 45 years and most of my adventures have been solo. I never had a serious incident but a few close calls and was never stranded due to mechanical failures. I no longer take unnecessary risks feeling my good fortune does not need to be put to the test any longer. When you get older a number of things change and some not for the better. One thing is don't deny yourself some alone time out there you can and will learn some very valuable lessons. ROCK ON! PS: Ask Brad at Trail Recon what he felt and learned from his recent solo time. I think it inspired him in new ways.

This is some of your best work, brother. Amazing film and epic narration. I drove this sketchy stretch past Wenatchee, a few years ago. Video footage doesn't come close to showcasing how wild and that drop off is, along with the nasty ruts and angles, on the trail. I've been attempting to describe this to people since, and until now, I can give them a better look into it. Being alone doing this is brave of you and I admire your courage to live and explore. Got my heart racing when I crossed that section of the trail. The campsites after it, are well worth the effort and excitement. I have yet to finish watching, had to pause and write this. Stay safe 🤙🏽

@@DirtLifestyle we call that the Beehive Reservoir Washout and it's actually gotten better over the last three summers. wow , fantastic Nate from 0-19:38 epic views, drone shots, your hard work paid off on the Disco, the PNW along the Canada/US i will say is some of the most breathe taking scenery in all of North America, the summer of 1980 i had a brand new vehicle and 20 yrs old and got laid off my job for the summer and went out west where i had never really been, living in the centre of Canada where its flat, going all through Alberta, British Columbia and a bit of time in Montana and a bit more in Washington state your home, it was all some crazy beautiful that words or Cameras can't describe or do justice, you have to experience it, the camping, Lakes, rivers, waterfalls and just so many cool little waterfalls everywhere and the glacial lakes you have to be really carful of as scenic and Turquoise as they are you can drowned very easily from the shock, wading was good enough, Logging was king back then more than now and the trucks ruled the roads everywhere i went and gave them space and the respect they deserved, and was the best trip i took and it was entirely solo, all 15,000 miles of it and pretty much emptied my bank account all but a few hundred bucks when i got back home in late August and called back to work about 4 days later, i had that vehicle for about a year and put just shy of 40,000 mile on it and was glad i purchased the 3 yr /36000 mile extended warranty it paid for itself shortly after that trip and several ski trips out west , then traded it in the spring of 1981, great memories, look forward to the next video. 👍

I wasn't even in the vehicle with you, and I was tense watching you inch up that dangerous climb. Glad you had airbags to help equal things out a little bit, but man the camping spot you got to was pretty amazing! Thanks for sharing the view with us, and I'm glad you got some down time in such an awesome place! Glad you had some satellite communications for back up! and also very responsible and a good message to others that may be inspired to do a solo! I'm not sure I would have the courage to do a solo like that! If you were able to relax and heal up a little bit out there, I say it was well worth the journey. It was too bad that fires are destroying so much right now. Another five years and all the green beauty will be roaring back! Oh, and I actually watched the axle build you done on that. I thought you done a great job, but I'm glad you got what you wanted put in there for your overland and off road adventures! Hope the journey back home was restful!

Super fun to see you traveling my old stomping grounds. I did a bunch of summer ascents of unnamed 10k peaks in the N Cascades with a mountaineering buddy who routinely pioneered routes in the winter. Built timber frames out of N Chelan shop. That area you are talking about in central WA is a desert, the same one that runs all the way to Mexico and extends into BC. If you get to the very north end of Ross Lake you might find the pioneer cabin of my relatives that were some of the first settlers in the area.
