is a moter from 1000watt good or better when you pull a heavy trailer from 265 pound?
@UtahTrikesOnline
@UtahTrikesOnline 4 жыл бұрын
1000W is 4X or more stronger than most riders, so it can definitely pull a trailer as long as that rear wheel has traction. Most trailers connect up to the rear axle though, so pulling a heavy trailer regularly is not something we suggest on a suspension trike as that's a lot of force that the Swingarm pivot wasn't made for.

1000 Watt is silly. I would recommend 350 Watt. Or 500 Watt if you pull a heavy trailer. But even 250 Watt is plenty. Battery capacity is far more important. 2x20Ah and a 350 Watt Bafang will take you 200-250km on a day easily going a steady 30km/h. A 1000 Watt with 1x20Ah top speed will run out in 20 minutes. Wow really fun....not. If you don't agree please feel free to comment.
@UtahTrikesOnline
@UtahTrikesOnline 4 жыл бұрын
A more powerful motor can accelerate and climb faster and will likely have a higher top speed. It is unlikely that it will always run at peak wattage though. Cruising along at the same speed as you and your 350W motor, the 1000W motor will only use about the same power. It's only when the 1000W blows past your 350W motor that it will be using more power. So, if you are happy with 350W speed and climbing power then no reason to have more. As far as duration goes though: 48V Battery w/20Ah capacity = 960Wh 960Wh / 1000W constant usage = .96 hours .96 hours = 57.6 minutes With motor use only (no pedaling) you should get 10-20 miles with one battery depending on rider weight, terrain, type of riding. With assist you can get 4X that.
@driewiel
@driewiel 4 жыл бұрын
@@UtahTrikesOnline My recommendation to people reading is still stands. Why 1000 Watt if you hardly use all the power? Who wants to go 120km/h anyway? Captain Courageous? Get a car. I know the USA is different. Don't need a license. In all European countries you need a license and helmet if it is more than 250Watt. But....maybe with 350 Watt you can get away with it? They even sell Bafang 350 Watt with a 250 Watt sticker. Yes sneaky. Of course the throttle is not legal too. Not even on speed Pedelecs. Which I find pretty stupid. The throttle is there for safety to get moving cross a junction on a slope from a stop. Not to use it constantly without pedaling. Or you will damage the motor. My verdict. 1000 Watt is for people who hate cycling. As the Dutch would say 'Act normal and you are crazy enough'. Between 20 and 30 km/h that is when you are a cyclist. In fact I find 25km/h exactly the right speed to enjoy the scenery. Only when you go up real mountains with a heavy load then 750 or 1000 Watt makes sense. That is why they build them. Not to make a race car of your trike. I call it anti-cycling. But let people decide for themselves. I'm only giving my opinion. More isn't always more. Sometimes it is less. I still enjoy riding without e-assist just as much. Uncomplicated, light, go as far as my body allows. E-assist is not the holy grail.
@UtahTrikesOnline
@UtahTrikesOnline 4 жыл бұрын
@@driewiel Well, yes, if you can't have a throttle and need to stay legal it makes sense. The mentality here in the USA is definitely different. If you want to replace your car with a bike but you have a 10 mile commute on the road with cars then you need to be able to move. A small motor just won't cut it. If you only bike to enjoy the scenery then why have a motor at all? As far as people that like big motors hate cycling goes, hmm. With enough gearing you can still pedal your heart out no matter how big the motor is.
@driewiel
@driewiel 4 жыл бұрын
@@UtahTrikesOnline You have a great shop. I hope you will tell your costumers that 1000 Watt is a bit 'much'. Let them try 250 Watt first and then step up if they think they need more. @@UtahTrikesOnline the way I would put it is there are factories of various quality in most countries and if you are buying a bicycle that has been designed and configured and the package four final shipment in Germany you can expect that they will not be working with the wrong manufacturers wherever. However, the commenter suggest then dealing directly with the country of origin my allow you for the same money to go further in the ultimate result. You didn't mention the percent percentage for this particular variable speed or infinitely variable transmission. I think that has Battery Technology improves we may see more of the human power by wire types of designs where are the human generates power that is not mechanically distributed whether that's by pneumatic or hydraulic or electrical would not matter as much as the benefits in flexibility of the frame and the drivetrain and props incorporation of energy from the upper body that is more of a whole body exercise experience and because of the in efficiencies of this being easily made up by shading solar panels and improved battery chemistry you can avoid having to charge your batteries and also the problems with transmitting work mechanically. You mentioned how people drop by figures starting with this Pacific frame and I don't have any problem or point to make about that being a wrong number it is just that when you talk about the issues I raised here you are starting to get into a price point where they become relevant. My understanding is that recumbent got its popularity from reduced turbulence but then various issues that not being as the reptile core of our Sarah Brianne prefers higher in the air and I was trying to use the word for our brain so hopefully you could read the two words that are there allowed and no I meant steer, that is c e r e b r i u m. Since I will be using whatever machine I ultimately end up with that incorporates my values and consumes too much of my net worth presently for urban commuting it is very likely that I will try to do something that is a hybrid that might have a third wheel and might be full recumbent but I don't see why I can't be higher off the ground even though I am extremely extremely aware of what happens when you move the center of gravity up because I have experimented with a child polymer wagon and putting different quieter Wheels underneath it because the four wheels that the wagon as are of a design that is more like an elderly person's Walker in terms of limiting speed and creating all kinds of nonsensical dynamics that are more than a pain in the butt and then have literally rubbed off the rubber from the solid plastic airless Wheels. When the way is very high up on the wagon the weight it is extremely difficult to prevent the wagon from toppling over and I had began with a push golf trike and had gone through various ways of putting cargo on there and I have failed to buy a really luxurious Golf Club suitcase for it so is using various fabric ice chests and finally I ended up just putting it under the wagon. when you push such a Contraption it is easier to keep it from toppling over and when you tell it ironically or however you want to view that contrast. I have owned a converted tandem upright bicycle and I wish I had had more outings with a bicycle because it was somewhat thrilling the pedal that thing and have so much cargo on it and just flow down the roads by all the little harmonics within the frame and the various ratlings from the cargo. It was thin steel tubing of course old school upright tandem frame and it was stolen by the HOA. Currently I experiment with different walking technology and have created a life that the slower speed of walking does not crate and efficiencies overall for because most of what I can do while at a destination I can do while walking. I do not have time cards that I need to punch at certain locations. I do though extremely reluctantly hop on Transit when I need to be too far in terms of walking and the time that is available. we are getting to the point with autonomous technology that inexpensive trike can Circle The Block so nobody steals it and avoid causing any problems because of its smartness in terms of Uno using a solar panels to find routes that are I'm congested and arrived as if by valet precisely at the point that you are ready to board. If I lived in a country that influence me to have a lower wattage motor I would get more benefit from the motor the cost of a 250 watt motor can be less than a thousand watt motor and it can offer a tremendous amount of a being far more power than most people typically contribute on an ongoing basis to their ride from their body. I have of course marked this video to download at its maximum resolution at some point even though I don't recall doing it in the last 5 days maybe it is auto downloading because it's part of the playlist of comfort custom trikes but I am glad that it is fresh because I did just stream it if at a very low resolution and enjoy every second of it. I was reading about a walking Club bicycle design that is not the treadmill version but actually I have more of a stepping type drivetrain in terms of a up and down. so that is at least three alternative drivetrains to Circular pedaling that I've seen in production. I do think that when it comes to folding the one use case that you don't adequately discuss is using Urban bike lockers despite having a trike and I think that having that at the riot design parameter from the get-go makes sense because I'm not sure if you know of a single model that is going to fit in a sta Bike Locker ndard triangular Bike Locker sorry I had to go back up and change the word model back to model because Google wants to say the word that follows single is Mom no matter what you say. I think that there is an opportunity to get seniors into these types of machines before they end up getting a free mobility scooter. I just discovered that there is a Nuance when you talk about mobility scooter and what they call this American company us social Mobility. without having to go extremely wide the battery electric scooters now allow you to have your head at a walking height. I believe there are two speeds depending upon whether it is at the maximum height or some 10in lower with a motorized height adjustment. social Mobility is for people who are not able to walk being able to talk and listen to people who are walking next to them. the alternative to it for higher speeds would be for both people to be on a recumbent bicycle of course, a bicycle that is for each of them I'm not one that they share. when my mother was somewhat younger than that now and she is in her tenth decade now I did get her onto a trike it was a cheap steel heavy front hub motor conversion. we had the original front wheel tire as well but my mother never tried to use that bicycle despite it being available to her for many months. In my absence she had bought a conventional bicycle and was writing it in a loop track around her home and I did not realize how fragile her have it was when I borrow the bicycle and she never wrote it again. she had never used the bicycle that she had bought brand-new at a bike shop to go anywhere but around her home. That fact however is very little Comfort to me and now it is a decade or two later. I have great ambition for my mother to get her to be more active again and one of these strikes may be a part of that if I can as I have alluded to make it more appealing to her by having it be perhaps extremely slow, and in being very slow still be very high off the ground yet stable! by being extremely slow you can have a small solar panel provide all of the Power because for such a person they only need to take it out before or after lunch literally at High Noon and it is just about the fresh air it is just about a loop the destination is exactly the spot that they began and the Mounds of wattage they contribute is hardly the most important thing. we are lucky to have an essentially closed track around our homes. many of our neighbors walk the loop. as much as I love walking or used to until some criminally placed Ultra thick wrought iron stretched one of my tendons in one of my feet, which is something that choice of Footwear is so far making only a nuisance but not completely disabling. your shop I think stands at a Crossroads in which you are subject to unsolicited purchase requests in which it is a group by in which the net income to your shop to your store to your Collective to your business is sufficient despite a drastically lower cost per vehicle. we have in the various websites and apps and increasingly flushed out supplier side version of that but on the customer side I have not seen the ability 4 yuppies or millennials to put forth what they want and how many millions the crowd is offering. if we ask for the ultimate at a bargain price it only requires that enough of us sign on with our electronic payment confirmed 4 and 2 tees to step forward and fulfill
