You could not have said it better. Azub, range of Trikes covers most riders needs and is adaptable if not. ( price excluded). What a ""let down"". I am thinking about getting a tadpole trikes next year, when I get this settlement check I get every year. It is the only way I can possibly afford one. But, most models are more than my check. So, I would have to get a basic model, and hope that I can upgrade it. I don't know if I can even afford to buy from you or not. But, here are some of the things that I am hoping to be able to upgrade to. First, I want red. I like the fat tires, but I don't think I will be able to afford fat tires initially, so I am hoping that this is something that can be upgraded. I would like full suspension, and I would definitely prefer 20 inch wheels all around. Second choice would be 24 inch tires all around. I definitely don't want a bigger rear wheel. I am only 5 foot 2 and a half, so I will need a bike with a shorter leg span. I want more gears than a single speed, but I am hoping that this is also something that is upgradable, later. And, I do want full suspension, or to be able to upgrade that, later. I am also wondering if it would be possible, maybe...to finance any amount that goes above the amount of my settlement check, which is always between 1,500 and 1,600 dollars. I can't remember the exact amount, but it right about at the mid point of those two numbers. Honestly, I would prefer a quad the most, but I can't ever see myself being able to afford a quad. I want the recombinant with two wheels in the front, for sure...even though the upright with two wheels in the back are so much cheaper.

I'm green with envy. My first trike was an AZUB TRIcon, purchased in 2013. It's still gorgeous and going strong. You are right; the workmanship is excellent; the welds are beautiful. I recently upgraded to a 750 watt Bafang e-assist, which makes riding even more fun. Your special motor mounting bracket helped me keep the motor in place. BTW, about that; is the bracket used on the AZUB different than the same unit that would be used on a Cat Trike? I ask, because I had to engineer some modifications to use the on you sent me on my Tricon. I didn't know if it was the same unit or a slightly larger (longer) one. Anyway, great video! Much useful information was presented. Good job. Tell Louise to lighten up on the coffee; he scared me. Your hair look awesome too Kate. Getting long. Thanks!

Just waiting in my used 2016 TRIcon to arrive. Cool to hear you added a Bafang on yours. Definitely considering adding one to mine in the future! 👍
@daveyJ2134 жыл бұрын
@@TravelingKory Adding the Bafang 750 watt e-assist has made the trike just that much more easy/fun to ride. I have it programmed with nine levels of assist; level one provides 20% of available power from the motor; each level provides 10% more all of the way up to level nine at 100%. I can climb 5% grades easily, while pulling a WIKE high-wall trailer along with 50 lbs. of tent and camping gear. Power level 3 in combination with my tallest gear (10th) allows me to cruise effortlessly at 15+ mph on flat ground. I've never had the power over level 5. Any higher than that and I can't keep up my cadence on the pedals. My longest ride has been 41.5 on a single charge, and that used only 25% of the battery charge. I think I could get at least 75 miles on a single charge with judicial use of the motor. Big fun!

Is Greenspeed the only trike that has a square boom? I had the original Magnum XL with the boom made of round stock. Hard torque from a dead stop at the base of a hill caused the boom to rotate in its sleeve. A square boom ended that possibility. I'm surprised AZUB and others didn't adopt that feature.
@rossbrumby19572 жыл бұрын
I had a gt3 and a new magnum big wheel at the same time. The gt3 didnt slip the boom, but was way springier in the frame than the magnum even though it was shorter. Wouldn't buy a trike with a round tube frame again after being used to the magnum's rigidity.

@heystarfish1004 жыл бұрын
I would love to own one of these but I cannot get over the pricing to justify the purchase. Why are pedal powered trikes so much more expensive than fuel injected four cycle engine equipped four wheel drive quads and utv’s which have so much more to their builds? These trikes just seem too minimalistic for the money yet with a few frills adding up can easily double or triple the base cost. The total cost of ownership over time looks expensive as these individual replacement parts are so highly priced for what they are. Is there some giant My Pillow the trike industry has to capture the loudness of laughter when these roll out the door? I do respect your company and believe you all do a fantastic job on these videos to make them informative, entertaining and showcase the product very alluring.
@StellarFella2 жыл бұрын
There is an objective inherent in a trike that doesn't exist in fuel-injected machines. With a trike, you are the engine and the trike is an extension of you. With a fuel-injected device, the engine is not you, and you are an extension of the engine. People buy what they desire. That's called a free market.

How Greenspeed wheels with drum brakes can be removed without tool but not on Azub?
@azubrecumbents4 жыл бұрын
Hello, the Greenspeed still has some little play in the front wheels which don't like so we have come with a different solution. It also makes the trike narrower for transporting as also the brake pads with the inner part of the brake come out of the trike. And removing the wheels is just very easy. One Allen key about 30 seconds and you are done. Hope this helps to answer your question.
@rossbrumby19572 жыл бұрын
@@azubrecumbents fair answer, but my new (1700km)magnum big wheel has no discernible play in the front q.d. axles at all. Don't even know if q.d. disc hubs exist, I'd rather drums even if they are spongy compared to discs because one set of shoes will last the trikes lifetime probably and rarely need adjusting- but to each their own.

Infinity power on sunny days! 😎 I thought about a bike trailer that could hook up to an electric fat bike, where the trailer would have an enclosed cargo box covered in solar cells. The batteries could be charging as you ride, and also when parked! ☺ Pack a couple bags and you could go 100's of miles nonstop, no problem! But a solar roof is even better, in some ways! 😲 At least as far as reduced weight compared to a trailer. Maybe have a sleek, narrow roof/roll cage sort of thing, with solar cells all over the top? 💡😃

Why does everybody make the mistake of saying that bigger wheels roll faster so if you have the 26" rear you'll go faster? Yes bigger wheels do roll faster BUT as you're only changing the rear you still have the 2 smaller front wheels so it doesn't make any noticeable difference! What the 26" wheel does is give you a higher gear range compared to the 20" when using the same cassette.
@rossbrumby19573 жыл бұрын
From what I've read, smaller wheels roll faster, that's why the Greenspeed Aero has 16" wheels all round. It is claimed to be the fastest production trike. Smaller wheels have a smaller contact patch therefore less tyre flexing taking energy. Also they're more compact so less wind resistance. However I wouldn't care to commute or tour on a high speed garage creeper like the Aero!
