Working on the Defender, epic beach camp spots and a random encounter with a very special man who opened our eyes to a serious issue facing Japan.
We return to our old mates Asahi Motors for a scheduled service and of course a few other Defender jobs...
Whilst waiting on parts we visit a beautiful beachside camping area popular with local surfers and fisherman.
A mountain road takes us to a campsite deep in the mountains where we meet a young gentleman who is devoting his life to a very special project.
Enticing the next generation to return to the rural areas with declining populations and make their homes in the country rather than big cities.
A daunting task and one we have the upmost respect that Toku is undertaking.
If you enjoy our videos and if you would like to support our work, we have a PATREON account.
Become a PATRON and be part of the adventure.
Thank you very much.

MERRY CHRISTMAS GrizzlyNBear!! Many young Japanese people do not realize how FANTASTIC the countryside is. The air is clean, at night it is quiet and peaceful. The people know and care about each other. My wife and I purchased our home in Wakayama and were welcomed with open arms. I often take my dog for our daily walks and come back with a bag full of vegetables given to me by a neighbour. I do the same for my neighbours. In the countryside, we live life at a natural pace. You two do a fantastic job of showing my Japan, the one I live in and the one more young people will hopefully gain an appreciation for on day.

I've actually saw a documentary not too long ago on why the Japanese younger generation is moving away from the country to the bigger cities in search of better jobs and social experiences. We should know, we were young once. I think I know what the next video will be about so I won't spoil it :)

Thanks mate. Absolutely we do feel a bit crowded every now and then. With my previous job working month on month off Stephy only had to put up with me 24/7 for 6 months a year. Now it's 24/7 all year 😜 My mother often says she feels sorry for Steph 🤣 We're lucky we have the camper and we have our own space in that camper albeit very small. We take time apart in small doses and it works well. I'll take off early in the morning for a few hours of exercise and this gives Stephy a break. It can be tough and we do often receive messages from people asking this question. Maybe I'll make a little video about this topic I think 😉

Apologies I’ve been a bit slack in keeping up with your videos. Too much work on atm. How could you live without a horn? It’s my favourite and most used accessory on the Landcruiser 😂! Here in Queensland I love to give a New South Wales number plates vehicle an absolute ear full of my horn (very infrequently I should add).....it’s not that they’ve done anything wrong, but it’s hilarious to see the confusion on there faces. Like most Aussie blokes I’m kid trapped in an adults body....55 going on 12...

Do you think that you will get to climb Fuji0san while there? It isn't your style of climbing more hard slog due to the scoria, in 2 steps forward you slip 1 step back, or worse, but interesting and a good view if the weather is good.
