If it takes a space craft 70 000 years to reach the sun, how did new horizons reach pluto in less than 10 years?

@gauravgk1173
@gauravgk1173 8 жыл бұрын
He meant it would take 70k yrs to reach the Sun if you travelled to it on a medium like road. He probably took a top speed of a rocket and used division to find the time it takes to travel to the Sun. Reality is very different thought. To travel in space, you don't take some direct highway, you take an orbit. Simply said to avoid all the complicated "rocket science", you would travel a lot faster to the Sun because you accelerate rapidly towards it, just as you do from falling down to Earth.

*CORRECTION* @ 13:40 . . . As viewed from a position in space north of the solar system (from some great distance above the Earth's North Pole), all the major planets revolve counterclockwise around the Sun, and all but *Venus and Uranus* rotate counterclockwise on their own axes; these two, therefore, have retrograde rotation.

Lot's of incorrect information in this video... the sun will NOT run out of hydrogen in 130 million years. It has a couple billion years to burn it. It would not take 70,000 years to reach the sun with spacecraft... He must mean Proxima Centauri...

There are lots of incorrect information, indeed. But he didn't say the sun will run out of Hydrogen in 130 million years. He said that after the sun run out of Hydrogen, it would still burn (Helium) for another 130 million years.

For you guys who don't get it, 42 is the meaning of life because according to "The Hitchhiker's guide to the Universe" In ASCII computer programming 42 stands for an asterisk (*). And in that context an asterisk can be anything you want it to be.
