When I think about the 1960s these following things: The British Invasion(The Beatles) Vietnam War, the assassinations of JFK, RFK, and MLK, and finally Woodstock.
@nichhodge8503 Жыл бұрын
English Invasion as The Beatles, Rolling Stones etc were from England 🏴 not Scotland 🏴, Wales 🏴 or Northern Ireland. I hate it when Americans call English people British 🇬🇧 but call people from Scotland Scottish and what is worse is calling an English accent a British accent as there is no such thing as Britain is made up of 4 different countries with 4 completely different accents! When I think British I think of the British Empire which includes Canada and USA (the first 13 states as the rest belonged to Spain) in the west to Australia and News Zealand in the east and everything in between

Me, I'm more of a Zillennial. A combination of Millennial and Gen Z. In my personality, I feel like I was raised as the good natured child of the 1960's, the Baby Boomer era. I am sadly not considered a Baby Boomer. My parents are from the post 1960's era. Generation X. To me, they don't feel like rebellious folks at all. They feel like good natured people of the 1960's. I know Millennials aren't afraid to use their voices ect. But, This won't apply to disabled people at all. The young people have and are always considered apolitical and apathetic for political views. I find this very true. This applies to children of every single generation. Disabled people like me, have no taste in politics. I am only a part of Basic Rights. I'm no political idealist, no political mouthpiece, no minority, and no complex person. Raising my voice is good, but this badmouth about the government or criticism against anyone. Will backfire horribly, that would be a disaster. And taking it too far. Limits are sometimes needed. This something that goes against everything about me, and the young people stand for. That would be something for some young folks, and me. Feel ashamed and filled with nothing but regret. Despite me being a Zillennial. I feel almost nothing like a Millennial. I more than just a tech savvy youngster. I have memories about Counterculture, Hippies, John F. Kennedy, Margaret Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, and the Neoliberals as a whole. Trying to understand what were there motivation, from their time period. When I do some researching, this stays in my mind. There is a reason why I'm afraid to use my voice. I need to be careful and think slowly using my voice. I only raise my voice about social news, and internet topics when the time comes. This is what I truly am, this whole time. That's all I have to say here.

Fun fact: President John F. Kennedy's favorite novel was From Russia With Love, a James Bond novel, and later met with the James bond creator Ian Fleming, and said "I wish I had James Bond in my staff". Kennedy then got the chance to watch the movie adaptation of his favorite novel From Russia With Love in 1963 when it first came out (he somehow got to see it earlier even though the movie didn't release in the US until 1964). Rumors has it that it was Kennedy's final film before being brutally killed. Also fun fact: (This might not be a 1960's fact because it originates from the 1950's). The 1995 James Bond films Goldeneye was named after a rented house Ian Fleming was staying in when he wrote his first series of James Bond novels. ANOTHER fun James Bond fact: Originally EON was planning to film Casino Royale as the first Bond film but unfortunately Fleming had already sold those rights to another company, so they had to do Dr. No first.

I don't remember Kennedy's shooting, but I do remember his funeral (only a few days later). I clearly remember the moon landing. I mainly didn't vote for Obama, because he's younger than me. As for when the 60s ended, I always screw with people, and say they ended in March of 1973. That is when the Vietnam War cease fire took effect, and American troops start leaving the country. The effect on popular culture, back in America, was quite striking and abrupt. From organic hippies to polyester, almost over night ! I HATE polyester ! btw: I tossed out my fax machine over 10 years ago.
