This boat is WEIRD, but in a good way! We think this she offers a lot of "big boat" features in a small package. It's construction, design, and the Pacific Seacraft track record of building high quality boats mean that you can take this boat anywhere you'd like in comfort.

We're not afraid to jump into anything, put in the work, and learn as we go. For this reason our channel is very DIY focused, with the goal to show anyone watching that a lot is possible if you're not afraid to make some mistakes along the way.

Except for stuff like high-end Nav, weather, radar, communications, energy and water, along with dependable propulsion :) Certainly not excess, even if there's redundancy or backups in a few critical areas. Like, a spare diesel fuel pump, marine radio and fan belts, they don't take up much space.

@Jim Browski One may not do a lot but 4 may power that boat totally except for AC if it has one. Even one can manage all of the lights with enough battery storage. They are more important on a sailboat than a regular boat with a generator running the entire time you are not on shore power.

There was a UK wind generator company called Ampair that went out of business about 5 years ago - they sold a version called the Aquair 100 which I have. It can be used as a wind generator either pole mounted like mine or hoisted in the rigging. It can also tow a propeller from a rope attached to the generator shaft with the generator gimballed on the pushpit - said to be good for deep water and I have the parts to set it up but I'm happy with it pole mounted to the starboard pulpit. The hoist-in-rigging option isn't intended for use underway but one could I think, if running under headsails alone, suspend it vertically with the topping lift, a downhaul and a sliding connection or a soft strop to the backstay. For a sketch search AQUAIR 100 Operation Installation & Maintenance ... - Gwen Ru Can't buy these new so just offering this as an example of how a backstay fitting might be contrived.

One might rig a drop board for more draft and stabilization at the stern. Maybe a hinged panel board of sorts. A 4'11" draft alone might make for quite an awful day if say you were caught in a washing machine in the Pacific. The combination of motor & sailing at the same time can get the stabilization you need but small boats don't carry much fuel so you wouldn't want to get caught in a washing machine or a big blow for very long without an extended keel of some sort. On the other hand, these small pilothouse boats from this one to the Nauticats have sailed the world. I'd bunk in the pilothouse at sea and forward at calm anchor. I can't describe to you what a joy, being inside in terrible cold and wind and at the outside helm in nice weather is like. If you are starting out, OR you are over 50 and want to extend your sea life without the weather downsides of heat, cold, and severe wind, this might be the boat for you. With a six foot drop board on it, I'd sail this boat anywhere in the world. I'd cover the top of the pilothouse with solar panels, buy one or two of the off grid super batteries just for the AC and another for the fridge for first class feature comfort for living on the hook. The price looks about right. Maybe 10 less depending upon what the survey says. Good video!

Doesn't mounting the radar behind the mast give a big blank line and a blind spot on your scope? Wouldn't mounting on the front of the mast a better location? Mounting higher will give more range, but not drastically so. The distance to the horizon doesn't change that much in a few feet. Long range isn't that important IMO as is short range for collision avoidance. Consider one of the new broadband low power radars. But the weight of the radome may be noticeable in roll.

@@sanfranciscobay it's because it's not a common boat, you won't find many pilot house boats period let alone under 40 ft so it's a boat looking for a buyer. Truly this boat even well maintained is likely going to need rigging, bottom paint etc within a year or two max. Electronics ...who knows if they are functioning or outdated but that's boating. Truly it's worth $60k tops for its size but again it's like trying to buy a rare car. If you want it then it's worth what you are willing to pay. Being in truly excellent shape you likely are getting a fair value at 75-80 if it's what you want. Then again you might find comparable sized boats for 30 or under. If you do the work you might put another 20 into it or hire it done and be at the same price. It's always worth what you think it is not someone else.

I own this exact model. That's what those white covers were covering that they should have removed for the video. Those windows are at the perfect height so as you're sitting enjoying a meal or reading a book while swinging on the hook in inclimate weather you don't miss what's going on outside. We've seen orcas, humpbacks, bears, otters etc through these windows. All would have been missed while holed up down below in a traditional sailboat design.

Guys, I have to say this by far is my favorite of all the boats shown so far; I love it! And yes, Pacific Seacraft is an excellent and well-crafted boat with well thought out layouts as evident from this video. Your right, Jordan, that's an exceptionally well set up 32-foot boat, and it's the pilothouse that makes all of the difference in the world making 32-foot look more like a 38-foot boat in the usable space. You have a spacious living area with a 360-degree view in the pilothouse with an efficient, well-equipped galley, very usable wet head (many are too cramped), and a comfortable, roomy V-birth with light and ventilation from lots of portlights and strategically placed hatches and vents. I can't think of any cons except I hate being a poor old man, LoL! But, things are looking up, the 37.5 Endeavor I trying, desperately to get my hands on is starting to look more like a reality, fingers and toes crossed, she's the perfect boat for me. Darn. It's going to break my old heart if I don't get her. By the way, and as promised, I have a couple of good sketches of a way to mount your wind turbine for efficiency and to avoid casting shadows on your solar array. By the way, you have one of the better wind turbines on the market. I would like one myself, but I'm sure your aware of the problems that horizontal wind turbines have with proper placement and turbulence. My design takes these factors into consideration. Does anyone know of a vertical frictionless wind turbine for marine use? Anyhow, I'll finish and clean up my sketches and email them to you. You can decide if you like it or not and put it in a video if you like or think it worth it. It will be from james n****d@n****ds.com with the subject "Wind Turbine Mount," okay? Good job and happy sailing!

That's the best monohull I have seen well maintained that engine bay is immaculate, I like an indoor helm station very rare on a sailboat. I bet it's not fast but it motors well.
