As a new Christian I had no knowledge of scripture so I blindly followed these teachers and would send money to TBN. I never got that hundred fold return.

Don't allow expectation to be your only motive for giving. Find you a good Bible based church and sow into it. Galatians 6:9 says let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

It's wrongheaded to equate Word of Faith with the prosperity gospel. First of all, how do you even define the prosperity gospel? If you're defining it as Bobby Conway seems to do here - "manipulating people to enrich yourself" - that's in total contradiction to what the leader of the Word of Faith movement taught. One can believe that it's God's will to prosper His children without resorting to manipulation. And if you're going to define it as the belief that it's God's will that we prosper, you're going to find many outside of the WoF camp who believe that.
