@nickwadson57312 жыл бұрын
@@bobbyl8640 In more detail - The Poverty Gospel God wants you to be sick and poor. If you are healthy or wealthy, it is because you do not have enough faith and/or are in disobedience to God. God wants you to be sick so that you will learn to obey His Word. "Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word...It was good for me to be afflicted so that I might learn your decrees...I know, LORD, that your laws are righteous, and that in faithfulness you have afflicted me" (Psalm 119:67-75). God wants you to be sick because it demonstrates His power. "Therefore, in order to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh...Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me" (2 Corinthians 12:7-9). God wants you to give away everything you have, so clearly that means He wants you to be poor. "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me" (Matthew 19:21). God wants you to be poor so that you will take your eyes off the things of this world. "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:19-21). God wants you to be poor. He demonstrates this by how often the Bible speaks against the evils of money and wealth. "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs" (1 Timothy 6:10). "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money (Matthew 6:24). "But you have dishonored the poor. Is it not the rich who are exploiting you? Are they not the ones who are dragging you into court? Are they not the ones who are blaspheming the noble name of him to whom you belong?" (James 2:6-7). God wants you to be sick so that you can rely on His strength and learn to obey His Word. God wants you to be poor so that you can learn to trust Him and take your eyes off the things of this world. If you are not sick and poor, it is because you lack the faith to trust God, are not obeying Jesus' command to give everything away, and are holding on to the things of this world instead of longing for your eternal home in Heaven.

"3/25/11 From The Lord, Our God and Savior The Word of The Lord Spoken to Timothy For The Lord’s Little Flock, and For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear Thus says The Lord: Blessed is that servant of Mine who seeks out the poor, whose heart is eager to help the needy, for they know My ways and seek to please Me. Blessed also is My servant who gives out of the abundance they have received, for they walk in My ways. Yet most blessed is My servant who gives from their lack, for they do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with their God; indeed, they have understood. Yet woe to those who ignore the poor and draw back their hand from the needy, while they sit at ease in their abundance. For destitution is coming, and shall be born out of great desolation, in the day I take away their abundance and leave their houses desolate. Woe also to those who say they are My servants, yet refuse to help those in need, for only tears and sorrow await them. And woe to those who fail to give even the smallest amount, claiming they are in lack, for they have no trust, having learned nothing from the poor widow.[1] Little flock, have you learned nothing from My Word? Have you so quickly forgotten My Letters, in where I have taught you the way in which you should walk? Indeed, who you choose defines what you do, as I have already told you.[2] And who are the poor and the needy? How have you treated them, while entreating Me? Do not lie to yourselves, beloved ones. Every one of you who sit at this table want for nothing. Shall you mince words over a dollar, while others sit upon the ground seeking to draw water from a pit? Shall you covet five dollars or even ten as you drive about in your automobiles, while your brothers and sisters abroad willingly walk miles to preach My Word, with joy, even to their dying breath? And still some of you sit at ease in your padded chairs, punching the keys, saying within yourselves, “I am delivered.” You are not delivered! From the power of sin, yes, My children, I have delivered you, yet some of you remain married to this world. And those who remain married to another, even to themselves, can by no means be joined unto Me, lest adultery be brought into the house of The Lord. Beloved ones, you are My treasure. Yet some of you count yourselves as first, having loved another more than Me; therefore you must be last. For I search the hearts and minds. And that discipline reserved for the churches of men, is it not also for you, even to a greater degree? Or have you forgotten this Scripture: For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more? Therefore choose, make your decision... It is time... Says The Lord." www.thevolumesoftruth.com/Reasonable_Service

Of course were still sinners .. were just saved by grace and our sin's are forgiven ..But I still sin and must be forgiven for it and so are you .. I started drinking when I was 16. I would drink at parties, but I also started drinking alone because I was unhappy, and I was in a lot of emotional pain all the time. My mom was very aggressive when I was younger, and my brother hated her and so did I. He started hanging out with shady people, he started failing all his classes, he was never home, and my parents fought all the time. I also ran away several times. I was always trying to figure out a reason as to why I was here or what the purpose of life was. So, I started looking at different philosophies, religions, and beliefs. When I was 18 after I was hungover, I got on my knees and I prayed for the first time. I asked if God was real that he would show me he was real because I couldn’t take it anymore. I was crying when I prayed for this. At that moment I felt a presence come over me like a wind. It was barely noticeable, but it was unlike anything in my life I had experienced up until that point. I was surprised when I felt it and I remember saying “what was that?” after that experience I pretty much forgot what happened and kept partying, until my senior year when I got arrested. After my arrest, my parents lost all their trust in me and I was expelled from high school. I was told never to come back. At that time, I felt afraid and hopeless. That’s when I started looking for God, and I prayed that he would reveal himself in my life and that he would give me signs. My prayers began getting answered so consistently that I couldn’t deny that God was doing something. It was mysterious and compelling. I ended up in Church and started reading the bible hours a day. I stopped hanging out with all my other friends because they were continually getting arrested. I was able to forgive my family and myself and to ask to be forgiven. I noticed how at Church people were judgmental and how they formed cliques but were afraid to be around anyone else different from them. It increased my faith because I realized Jesus was not like that and ever since I was young, I saw people as people regardless of who they were. After a while, it’s like I could see God's presence was in my life and then it felt like he wasn’t, and then he was, and then he wasn’t. One day I woke up and felt more depressed than I ever have in my entire life. I felt like I was dying on the inside. That night I prayed, and I said, God, I don’t see my life five years from now I'm going to die Jesus save me Lord, please save me. I was weeping when I said it and when I asked him to save me, I felt a presence inside of me like a heartbeat, and I felt it once like a pulse, and I said Lord please save me and I felt it again even stronger. It was like radiance. When I woke up the next morning, I had transformed everything felt brand new like I was a kid again. All my fears and all my racing thoughts everything was gone. I looked at my hands, and I said this can’t be real it’s impossible. When I looked at myself in the mirror, I saw a different person. I started praying, and the holy spirit became entirely real to me it was washing over me and inside of me. It was total love and peace, and I heard a voice but not an audible one, it was an inner voice. It said I am with you; I love you, I will never leave you, it’s done it’s finished. That was May 3rd, 2009, and ever since then I’ve followed God, I have seen many things change and many things I know wouldn’t have changed without faith and belief. I know what it’s like to be lost to feel you have no hope. Don’t ever think you’re stuck, or life can’t change because it can. My mom is a Christian now, Its night and day. Some of the things that went away during that period were severe anxiety and my addiction to alcohol. I’ve seen and experienced so many things that are miraculous and seen how God has worked in my life. When we ask God to forgive us for what we’ve done and turn away from our sins and wrongdoings and we believe in Christ's sacrifice everything changes. His word says if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that he died and rose again we will have eternal life but not just life after death but abundant life in the present. Our sins are erased not only past, present, and future but our burdens and fears are lifted also. Our thoughts, our minds, our hearts, our souls are transformed and united with God and we know his spirit lives in us. If you seek, pray, and knock you will know JESUS IS KING!!! HE LIVES!

In a wicked world with so many false ambassadors of the Kingdom of God it is encouraging that their are still steadfast teachers in the likes of John Piper. Many false prophets and false teachers today. Make sure you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you are digging in God's word and spending time in God's presence to discern the truth. Jesus is the truth. If you truly know the truth you will discern the lie. So focus on getting to know the truth. The lies of the world will not fill you. You will eat but will be left hungry. I can say this simply from experience. I have never met a wealthy person that seems to be happy. I have met many in my career and there is a noticeable lack of joy and peace in them. I am not saying ALL are miserable. Just what I have witnessed. So, if you must, go on seeking earthly riches and find out that it is NOT the way to happiness. Praise Jesus!
@lealeandre10639 жыл бұрын
+soulCracka1 You spoke the truth. Money doesn't make people happy. A close relationship with God is proven by a changed life, not a large bank account. That is why this false gospel needs to be denounced. "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come." People who used to be lovers of money are no longer that way after they meet Christ. If a person claims to be in Christ and is still lustful after money, he is not standing in truth. It is that simple. Be blessed!

PhilONE75 You´re missing the point; It does not refer to mere material things, for the Bible says that the love of money is the root of all evil (1 Timothy 6:10). Thrive is not the same as having plenty. If God allows a Christian win the lotto, in a matter of months or even days, he would forget about Him, however good intentions man could have. Therefore, it´s important to ask the Holy Spirit guidance and understanding when reading the Bible.

We've left two churches now as soon as we realized it was prosperity gospel teaching. One pastor turned every sermon to being about money. He would also do a 20-minute tithe sermon before offerings were taken. He said the pastor should live in the most magnificent house in the city. When my husband retired, he said to him, "And now you're going to start your own business and become a millionaire!" My husband said no, he wasn't. The pastor turned away in disgust from him, and then made pointed references in his sermon and basically said good riddance to anyone who didn't agree with him. Please note, that the church was in a very poor section of town and he was trying to squeeze money out of these poor people instead of helping them. You are correct that it's an abomination!

That time me and my family fell into this trap with me being a great victim of that as my faith in Jesus was just because of money and fame. But today, due to availability of internet has led me to the truth. Previously whatever a preacher preached I used to believe blindly. what makes it so hard about being financially well-off and having faith in God is that your financial safety does not allow you to easily face the kind of trouble that causes most people to realize how powerless they are and that God holds the only true power. only those who have faced rock bottom circumstances can easily understand the humility that true faith requires. those who are rich, even if they wanted to have faith, probably would never be sure. how do i know i don't just thank God because i'm financially safe? how sincere are my praises? the rich man has very little reference point here. hit bottom and you'll see your faith for what it is. until then, you can't be too sure, so just praise and praise and praise God and continually feel you can't praise enough. maybe that'll give you a feel for true faith, over time. but there's no point in being ashamed of wealth itself. Jesus prized humility above all, not physical poverty. just poverty makes it a lot easier to accept God.

the New Testament exalts poverty because those with less material possessions have much less to be attached to in this world. it's a mental thing. do not seek to be poor but seek the humility and lack of earthly attachment of the 'poor', because only with such a character can one truly accept God. anyone who exalts themself by saying "see! Jesus said poor people are closer to God so i'm better than you!", poor as they may be, nonetheless fall under the other rule Jesus preached, that those who exalt themselves will he humbled. God doesn't have it for everyone of his children to be uniformly rich OR poor. God has given to each one their proper yoke. be what you are. if you're financially rich, praise God. if not, praise God. the only important thing is to always praise God and commit to live your life aimed towards God. remember always that Jesus proved once and for all that God will always love those who turn back towards God. to know this deeply is to be know the only True Wealth.

The arguments that arise on these videos astound me. Instead of bantering back and forth in an attempt to convince each other that your opinion is the correct one, pray for one another, involve Scripture and let His words be the final opinion. If someone has a thought that does not align with the truth of Scripture, do not get angered or offended, remember the moment of your own conversion and the time and restoration you needed through the Spirit, and the counsil and discipleship of mature believers that were poured into your own life to get you to where you are today by the grace and mercy of Christ. The world will know us by our love and we do so great an injustice to the name of our Lord when we fight amoungst ourselves and with unbelievers. Even Jesus himself tempered his holy, just wrath when dealing with sin and immaturity. We should cautiously, and gently follow His lead before we hurl so many words from behind our keyboards knowing noone will hold us accountable for our actions. But then again we will be, won't we?........

And the irony is most of them don't have any. I read somewhere that people who hear these preachers have 30% of the net worth of the average Christian. I guess it's their own "Left Behind" movie. However, I agree with the other replier. These dead denominations that support homosexuality, Communism, etc. send a lot of people who weren't going to find God anyway to a different wrong path. The church of my youth (Presbyterian) was like that. The pastor didn't want to offend anybody so he preached nothing and what I heard in 3d grade Sunday School (miracles, Jesus feeding huge crowds with scraps, etc) was never even talked about upstairs, let alone lived out. One of my parents, from a family in witchcraft for 200 years and the other an agnostic were comfortable there, and I am sure the devil was too. As a result, I believed Christianity was a hoax and quit when I was 11, the only thing that saved me from atheism, but God got ahold of me years later with the truth. If it weren't for 200 years of compound interest from endowments they would all have closed by now, but it won't be long before they bleed out. Thank God.

Although I did question a few things when I was there and I believe that was the Holy Spirit guiding me to seek truth of God's word. Caleb Theology is the study of God. And the atrocities of these bare face vipers is VOID of Elohim.. ‘Doctrine’ may be a better and separate descript.

I lOVE DR . PIPER. I had him in a class when in College. He was just impassioned then. His Church was also a great place to worship. My town is small and lacks for biblical preaching.

There's nothing wrong with Janitors at Walmart. They are God's children too. Shame on you for having an attitude like you are better than them. This kind of mindset is exactly the fruit one can expect from the prosperity gospel, this doctrine of demons.

God does not want Christians to be rich, this is secondary, He is absolutely correct, CORRECT, The "eye of a needle" is actually a narrow gate in a wall of old jerusalem. prosperity preachers are wrong. The gospel is about forgiveness, and love, and sonship of God, by Jesus, not about prosperity...

3/25/11 From The Lord, Our God and Savior The Word of The Lord Spoken to Timothy For The Lord’s Little Flock, and For All Those Who Have Ears to Hear Thus says The Lord: Blessed is that servant of Mine who seeks out the poor, whose heart is eager to help the needy, for they know My ways and seek to please Me. Says The Lord.

Here in Brazil the prosperity gospel dominates the evangelical scene, they are everywhere and it's even hard to just say that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. People got brainwashed. They preach that there are works involved in the salvation process, like the things of the law of Moses, which I know and many knows that it's not true.

My parents I believe are unrealistic about their expectations of what a Christian should have. I have always followed the love of Christ not for what he can do for me but for his sacrifice. I also do not believe I am not wealthy because I have done something wrong or am being punished. I always have believed the riches referenced in heaven are far and well beyond anything we could comprehend or even imagine in this world. If it wasn’t it would not be the ultimate reward. I think it’s far wrong to compare treasures in heaven to worldly things.

I think his framework on “prosperity” preaching is limited, I sit under a prosperity ministry. He is speaking in absolutes without understanding that money is simply a tool. Money gets things done in this world and helps us spread God’s grace. There’s so much of what he’s saying that’s accurate if “prosperity” is limited to monetary gain alone and its pursuit

You are spot on correct on this message. We are suppose to enjoy the fruits of our labor but not miss use our money for selfish gain. We are called to be generous to those in need if we can afford to do so and this doesn’t have to be money wise. More followers of Jesus Christ need to help by volunteering. Time is priceless and sometimes hurting lost people just need someone to listen to them. I almost got sucked into this false hypocritical movement which is blasphemy and sickening. Thank you for bringing the true truth to the world. Bless you.

Americans are rich compared to other people in the world. I don't think its wrong to be successful as a Christian but I find that great wealth takes so much of our time away from the things of God that its just not worth it.

As I learned recently…we must always check if we are in the faith. I didn't know what it means to be a TRUE converted Christian. I thought all Christians who believe and confess with their mouth that they are Born Again are regenerated by God. This sadly is not true. True Christians must show what they call "fruit of their Salvation" meaning that they are really Born Again. They will start to hate things of the world and gravitate towards things of God. Taking off our self-righteousness and giving God full control over our life. This is the hardest part of walking as a true Christian because every so often the ugly head of our pride, selfishness and lust starts to creep in but thanks to the Holy Spirit that convicts our heart when it does.

Save your breath Julie, these people worship theology, and will more than likely never in this lifetime experience the baptism of the Holy spirit. The only thing they know is what they've been brainwashed by, and sadly, we know it as "Calvinism". Authored/originated by John Calvin, a bloodthirsty man who burned alive at the stake those who disagreed with his endless demonic theology.....
