12:20 - Not true. We see claws on other lions numerous times during the movie. We clearly see cub Simba's claws when he swipes at the hyena in the Elephant Graveyard, saving Nala. And I'm pretty sure we see Mufasa's claws when he tries to hang on to the canyon wall during the stampede. And, we see adult Simba's claws when he leaps at Nala, saving Pumbaa. And adult Nala's claws as she fights Simba. And I'm sure there were other moments, too. I think what you meant to say was: Scar is the only lion in the movie who has his claws extracted at all times. But that would actually make them less effective in a fight than those lions' who didn't constantly subject their claws to rock and other elements of earth...

Scar isn't the only lion that has claws. Young Simba used his claws to grab onto the branch during the stampede, Adult Nala had claws out when she was chasing Pumbaa, and Mufasa actually did use his claws to hold onto the side of the cliff.

I have this film on VHS yes VHS never got around to buying the Blue Ray but this was one of my favorite films by Disney of that era. When I 1st saw it the first 2 minutes I thought the whole film would be terrible, but time progressed, I became hooked and it became one of my favorite films =D

It was actually called King Of The Kalahari before the movie was released. And I sware no matter how old I am this will never change. I'm never ready to listen to Circle Of Life. My stomach still jumps when the chant stars. I sware there is no warning before the chant begins. Yeah call me a scardy cat or a baby or whatever you want to call me, but there needs to be a warning intro into the song before the chant begins. I was always scared of that song when I was a toddler so that's why I never watched the film. But now that I'm older I'm not as scared of it but unfortunately like I said my stomach still jumps right when the chant begins. Why can't I get over my fear of that song? Can anyone tell me why? Please help me!

+GetAmber I think it was so that the parents, who probably saw the film released in theaters, could re-experience the film as if it was for the first time, like it would probably be for their children. The 'invitation" they're referring to in the video was inviting them back to their childhood and to relive a memory through their child's eyes. They didn't say that in the video, but knowing Disney, that was probably the reason.

The other lions did have claws, though. Simba uses his claws multiple times, Mufasa uses his claws and even Nala uses her claws. Scar was the only lion to ALWAYS have his claws out, like a dog or a cheetah. (I think this technique is used to make him more...bad guyish?)
