The Pieman is a special river in Tasmania’s northwest that holds special fish. Our mission is a 10lb brown trout - a magical double-digit figure. Local legend and train driver Mason Paul is our Obi-Wan Kenobi, a 5.1m TABS console is his speeder.

Caught a 9lb there as a kid. Lived at Savage River for 10 years in 70's. Dad was president of the fishing club and we had a shack at the Pieman Heads. Many hours, did 9 weekends straight once. We caught a lot of big ones here and at lake Pedder in late 70's and early 80's. Used to keep our boat and caravan at Strathgordon Caravan Park. Good to see Mason on here, loves his fishing.
