11,000 Feet Phantom 3 Professional Flight.

This thing is a BEAST! I decided to turn around at 11,000 feet...... I don't think there would be any issues what so ever at hitting 3 miles. None!! Please be aware that I was flying over rural areas where there were no people, and 99% of the areas was my families property lol.

I could watch these videos all day long, is that sad ? lol on a serious note the battery is the only drawback to the range with the phantom 3,the battery always dies before the range does, having said that I have had full battery then flew 2-3miles still with full signal then had to return due to low battery, I wish dji would release a higher mah battery like they have done with the inspire(tb48 5400mah). who knows how far we would get.my range test was much like yours over farmland/rual areas which is the best flying site in my eyes,ok not the best looking for videos/pics but great for testing range with no power lines/wifi signals etc.

haha. you sound JUST like me. I cam go from 1 video to the next about these range tests and all. what I really like is watching the crashes haha. they are always so funny. I agree with u about the battery. they really should offer some extended range batteries for those of us who want longer flights. I would pay an extra 100 just for 20 more minutes! speaking of the inspire, I want 1 so bad. I am trying to find someone I can trade my phantom pro with 2 batteries for, and my phantom 2 with h3-3d gimbal, and my gopro hero 4 black, and my fatshark attitude goggles for their inspire. u think I may find someone eventually?

Jeremy Miller yeah the range tests are good,funny.as I'm in the UK I would not know where you would start with finding an inspire, looks on eBay, is it called craigslist or something,gumtree etc.But I would not have thought that anyone with a inspire 1 would want to downgrade, but who knows, good luck.

Nice flying! Quick question: When doing this did you occasionally get those warnings such as 'weak RC/image signal' at any point flash up but then you gained signal again? Or did you get no bouts of quick signal loss for the entire flight? Thanks :)

I got a couple of those warnings, but nothing ever froze up on me or anything like that. Just kept pressing forward! :)

Absolutely nothing on the phantom 3..all stock. Doesnt need ANY modifications, its a beast!

I've had mine a week but been too ill to fly, can't wait to test it out....although being in Europe it is automatically restricted so the predicted 1.2 miles is not reachable, I wonder if it can be overridden ? ....anyway nice flight ;-)

That sucks that you have been ill. If it makes you feel any better, I have had mine over a week and only been able to fly it 2 times lol. The life of a busy person I tell ya. I know there is supposed to be a built in limit in terms of location, but I am willing to bet you will still see some awesome range. Curious to know. I am sure 11000 feet is probably not legal in the u.s. either in terms of radio waves? Lol. Especially 2.4 ghz. Kinda hogging the airwaves?

Jeremy Miller The DJI App will tell you the legal limits, and show domes areas of where you're not allowed to fly over.

True... 11000 feet is definitely not line of sight, but i had to test it once...it was over rural area so i felt it was alright for once

Very nice vid, but how do you increase the distance, the app says max 500m. how do you get the full 1.2miles?

I didnt do anything? There is no distance limit on my app..only a height limit of 1640 feet?

Yep. I was only 400 feet in this video. That's what really blew my mind about the p3. In the past,in order to get that far of a distance, you would have to fly anywhere from 600 feet and up. Not the case here.
