Well, in terms of American ones I agree, but there are definitely anime that can at least match if not beat them. Overlord, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, BOFURI, The World's Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated as an Aristocrat, In Another World with My Smartphone, War on Geminar, Skeleton Knight in Another World, One Piece, Bleach, Demon Slayer, The Irregular at Magic High School, The Wise Man's Grandchild, Isekai Cheat Magician, KonoSuba, The Testament of Sister New Devil, Highschool DxD, Shomin Sample, Ikki Tousen, Spy x Family, Love is War, Sword Art Online, The Asterisk War, is It Wrong to Pick up Girls in a Dungeon?, World Break, Trinity Seven, Bladedance of Elementalers, Demon King Daimao, & Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun are just a few. Face it. When it comes to creating animated shows that AREN'T based on or meant to sell toys, the Japanese are just way better at it then we are.

God yes Exo Squad! It was a show that was as nuanced as you could get with a diverse cast of CHARACTERS who just happen to be one nationality or ethnicity because. Plus again an inter-species relationship that I found myself rooting for because the CHARACTERS had the chemistry together for it. Plus the show tackled social and political themes with a sort of subtle yet still forceful gravitas such themes NEED to be taken with. Exploring the why they are bad not that they are just bad. But yes I'd love to see a continuation of Exo Squad, NOT a reboot.

A reboot of Samurai Pizza Cats would be great as long as they keep the same style of dialog as the Orginal. One thing that made the Original great was the Dubbing Team tossed the original dialog (which was somewhat serious) and came up with their own funny dialog. Another one that deserves a reboot is Fraidy Cat. The concept has potential, and if a few tweeks were made to the premise (such as Fraidy being the last hope for his previous lives) it could be an excellent dark series.

Gargoyles was a masterpiece. A brilliant work of dark fantasy that puts everything else on this list to shame, and I was a fan of most of them. It had season long story arcs, genuinely funny moments and, not to put to fine a point on it, an interspecies romance you found yourself rooting for. I'd love to see it back, but only if they had all the original team together. I occasionally hear rumors of a movie. Fingers crossed.

@@michaelmills5972 Tom And Jerry: Spy Quest (2015). Boomerang ran a T&J marathon over Memorial Day weekend and my niece invited me to a watch party (she *loves* Tom and Jerry!) This movie happened to be on, and it's actually pretty good- Tom & Jerry are Johnny's pets (along with Bandit, of course) and Dr Zin is the villain but he has a cat army helping him. Warner Bros made several of these T&J crossover movies during the 10's- including Wizard of Oz, Back to Oz, T&J Meet Sherlock Holmes, Robin Hood and His Merry Mouse, and even a Willy Wonka crossover (1971 style, of course). These are usually parallel stories (a 'la Lion King 1 1/2) where our mouse and cat interact with the main story characters, but have their own adventures along the way (usually with the Alley Cats, Spike & Tyke, Tuffy, Droopy and others) and they're all pretty well done.

GI Joe A Real American Hero had not one but two awesome reboots. 1st, GI Joe Resolute, which sadly did not continue. And then the tv show GI Joe Renegades, which was like Thundercats 2011 was cancelled after just 1 season. For any of these possible reboots to work, they gotta be done right and most of all with respect.

Technically, G.I. Joe: Renegades is actually a side story of OG G.I. Joe/Action Force, but it takes place inside of a comatose dream of Duke after he sustained an injury after a battle. This is revealed at the end of the series.

G.I. Joe would most likely not work due to all of the polititards and the rising sentiment against the military, not only in the USA, but also worldwide. What EA needs to do is to sell G.I. Joe, The Transformers, Godzilla, and other former Marvel Comics properties back to Marvel Comics and then have Marvel work with Bandai Namco and make a Dynasty Warriors/Shin Sengokumusou style game around that franchise. If that happens, then the series could end on a good note.

WHAT?!?!?! Dungeons & Dragons and Thundarr The Barbarian should definitely be on this list! The D&D game has become quite popular since 5th Edition was released. And Thundarr The Barbarian has ALWAYS been awesome! It's like the best parts of Conan The Barbarian, The Road Warrior, Planet Of The Apes, and Star Wars all rolled into one epic cartoon series. If it were given the 2002 He-Man & The Masters Of The Universe treatment, it would be a HUGE hit. Even if younger folks have never even heard of the original show.

Over the years there were some good reboots to classics: Transformers got "Transformers Prime" and even "Transformers Animated" was pretty good... G.I.Joe struck nice with "Resolute" and "Renegades" and even the "ThunderCats" and "He-Man" original reboots were entertaining. And hey - "My Little Pony" because a surprising phenomon with "Friendship is Magic" ^^' The problem is that - judging from some, more recent attempts, reboots will be filled with agenda (She-Ra being probably the best example of this). Still: if done RIGHT, I think many of the shows mentioned ("M.A.S.K.", "Centurions", "SilverHawks" and "Gargoyles" in particular) would be entertaining too, though I would also add "C.O.P.S." and maybe "Visionaries" to the list... the only reason I WOULDN'T include "Jem and the Holograms" or "Gummibears" is because I'm fairly certain those would end up in the same ballpark as "She-Ra" did :(

Great work! Some of these deserve to be in your "90's Extreme' (SWAT Cats, Biker Mice, Dinosaucers). I would never remake Gargoyles or Samurai Pizza Cats, but additional seasons could be great to expand history or to tie in loose ends. I would definitely vote for a Silverhawks, Johny Quest and/or Defenders of the Earth remake by Dreamworks on Netflix, like the treatment Voltron had.

Not a bad list. Anime fans did love the cats because Samurai Pizza Cats is an American animated television adaptation of the anime series Kyatto Ninden Teyandee. A lot of content we watched growing up was ported from Japan , like Macross and Gatchaman, they were just renamed and toned down. I love this list and wished they could bring these shows and characters back, thank you for shining a spotlight on these classics.

Samurai pizza cats were originally called Kyatto Ninden Teyandee. The main Antagonist, Lord Kozo was actually a fox, as for his penchant for trickery and mischief against the emperor and lord Wagumo hires the cats as a secret force to combat lord kozo. Its an SD gundam styled show, the animals were actually robots called animaloids.

One cartoon from the 90s that I enjoyed that I would love to see comeback is King Arthur and the Knights of Justice. But only if a remake/reboot can be done right. Also one sequence from the original show that can't be altered if a remake/reboot happens is the Oath/Transformation sequence.

Since we are talking about reboots of old cartoons, what about the cartoon Reboot? It was the first one that was completely computer animated with a regular airing schedule. The story lines tended to be solid, with both bad guys and "bad" events happening almost every episode.

At the 0:27 mark you show Robotech, while this show continued in Japan as it's original title Macross. Until Harmony Gold releases their straggle hold on this classic a release here state side little lone a re-boot is pretty much off the table. I also agree with MiCenaHitmanFan1 that Dungeon's & Dragon's deserves a reboot if any.

1996 Johnny Quest was a reboot from the 1970's Johnnny Quest and Biker Mice from Mars was already rebooted in 2006. Ive been waiting to see a new MASK series for what seems like forever.

I refuse to watch Thundercats Roar on simple reason that they did the same thing that they did to Teen Titans. Saying that, I did like the Thundercats reboot they did in the early 2000s. It had a several ideas where they could've gone with the story. Like Mum-rana lead a taskforce to imprison mum-ra and finally tracked him to 3rd earth. Her taskforce was the Silver hawks before they where cybernized, but where shot down by mum-ra s Forces and was changed by the bird and ro-bear berbels. Also the last stone was being held by the Tigersharks characters. Just to name a few. What do you think of my ideas. Good or awful?
