Definetely one of the most asthetic and useful pleasing desk setups I have seen in a while with a lot of honest opinions! My personal favourite upgrade would definetely be the standing desk, since the covid I got moved to working at home and having to spend closely to 12 hours a day sitting down has been very hard and I feel it in my body, unfortunately I could never manage to afford a desk like this. Anywho, keep up the videos I love the way you speak!!

Thanks! From one guy who spends too many hours sitting in front of a screen to another... I highly recommend looking up "Pigeon stretch", "Lying leg cross stretch", and stretches for the Quadratus Lumborum. I stand as much as possible at the desk, but obv still end up sitting a majority of the time. These stretches will help combat muscle tightness and back pain that comes with sitting 🤝

Having a work station like this would be a dream come true. Right now I stand when I work even though my desk does not raise up. And that’s standing while using my walker! And the reason why I stand is because my chair hurts me so badly. I am older, 62, and have had MANY broken bones and on top of that situation I have a spinal cord injury. So I do have many complications on trying to find what would work best for me. If you have any other suggestions for my situation I would love to hear about them. And my favorite item from the video? Oh my, how could one choose? HA HA HA. I of course loved it all as I am sure everyone else did. I suppose my favorite would be the chair. Thank you for making these videos. It really helps. 🩷

I agree with everything except the mouse and keyboard. You definitely want to invest in a split keyboard because it allows you to be in a less crunched position with how far the each half of the keyboard can be placed from each other. Also having the ability to angle them puts your arms and wrists in a more natural position which reduces strain. And secondly, a trackball mouse like the Kensington Slim Blade Pro; absolute gamechanger in eliminating wrist pain and RSI.

I liked that you included a more budget-friendly dock option! Considering how similar the USB 4 and TB3 standards are, I highly recommend buying USB 4 hubs when trying to save money if you need the bandwidth. Whilst you do have several uses for your deskmat beyond your mouse use, you might consider a different solution. Are you ever annoyed by the edge of the mat against your arm/wrist, or by your mouse finding the edge? You can avoid it. Square off the desk surface that your mouse usually lives within with tough masking tape. Within that squared off perimeter use fine sanding paper to take the polish/shine off the desk surface so its matt enough so the mouse laser does not reflect randomly. It creates a good mouse texture. You might find it regains polish with use or think it will look tatty but if you do it nicely and neatly, not too much, it will look like a design feature. Test it on the underside of the desk if you want. An alternative would be to spray a removable matt finish on the surface but I'm not sure how long that will last.

The thing I love about the mx keys and other low profile keyboards is that, even after several thousand hours using them, I haven't ever felt like a wrist rest was needed.
