Um, a cat CAN and will hug you physically when they love and appreciate you. Two strays that lost their mom regularly will, during quiet time, sit up on their hind legs reach both front paws in the air at my hand motioning me to reach down and they wrap the paws around my hand rubbing against my hand with their face. My Ralphie, who is 12 yrs old now, was a stray and frightened adolescent kitten, wandering the backyards and starving hungry all alone. He was so scared of people. I borrowed a trap cage and brought him inside our house. He was so scared but after a few weeks, he grew to accept us and became a happy and contented little guy. He shows his love in so many ways and I am his best friend.

My Pippa was part of a mother cat + kitten rescue from living in the streets, so her first owner got her as a kitten. The first house had other cats and even a pit bull friend (I didn't choose her, wanted a kitten, but somebody else gifted me her). For a while I felt guilty I took her away from her home; but then i learned the first owners, two ladies, had so many other pets they stuffed her into a cat carrier every night for sleep! So I felt less guilty after learning that. Even so I think she was very angry and resentful of me for taking her away from there and 2 years later I'm not sure if she's over that yet... My Pippa is no snuggle bunny and always cautious even around me. I've been as loving as she lets me be to her, careful to respect her space, and I try to keep up a schedule for everything to make her more secure. I never yell at her, never punish her, praise her all the time, always talk to her gently, and try not to force contact in short, trying to do everything Galaxy and all the cat posts say to. But even after 2 years she is still wary of me! Not sure where we will be in another 2 years either... I'd like a lap cat, at least once in a while, and that's my goal...but I am not sure how or if I we will ever get there. if you want a loving cat I think you need a kitten. As long as you are willing to do the extra work a kitten needs, you have a lot better odds of raising a loving cat that willingly wears a collar, a harness for walks, and one that responds to affection (how much loving affection a kitten gets is of course directly proportional to how affectionate they are later. I lost that chance with Pippa though, so i will never know how good she could have been.)

I've had 5 cats so far and the laying down on the keyboard, can also mean - "stop paying attention to that and pay attention to me." I was working on a big jig saw puzzle for a few days, and one evening while I was working on the puzzle, my big, male cat got on the table, walked straight toward me, and laid down on top of the part of the puzzle I was working on. I picked him up, went to the couch and spent a lot of time with him, when he was satisfied, I was able to go back to my puzzle without interruption.

We have three, one of whom we brought in directly from the outside. Her kittens are with our neighbor. We've had her inside for just over a year now. She's still a little squeamish with being handled, but she's cool with being petted. She's very gentle and never shown any hostility. Loves to play and sprint up and down hallways. She'll slow blink us, rub up against us and sometimes sleep with us in our already overcrowded bed. I'd love to take credit for it, but it's all because of our black cat. She's obsessed with him, and I'm sure his presence is why she acclimated to indoor life so quickly. He's eight now, and we've had him since we saw him as a kitten in the shelter. I had never had a cat before, and I quickly went from being indifferent towards them to being obsessed. So in conclusion, a seventeen pound black cat has changed multiple lives.

@@mlt177 Yes. I glossed over that part but we worked with a trapper. She was taken to the Town to be fixed, and we asked for her to be tested for everything with the intention of eventually adopting her, our first obligation of course being the safety of the two cats we already had. The Town ended up not holding her for adoption as it deemed her not friendly enough, so it released her back into the custody of the trapper. We took her in at that point. They estimated she'd gotten pregnant at four or five months old. To think about what she must've gone through being so young while caring for four kittens is heartbreaking.

What is the secret to trimming my cats claws? She absolutely hates having her claws trimmed. ⁠​⁠@@WearyCowboy Many cats hate the clipping and they WILL put up a fight, trying to flee from the ordeal… I believe that the most important thing in the relationship between cat and human, is trust! I need my cat to be able to completely trust me, always! But if I (often together with another person) ‘fight’ my cat every few weeks to clip his nails, he cannot trust me 100%…! That is exactly the reason that I ALWAYS have his nails done by THE VET…! Besides the fact that this vet is very professional and really knows what he does when clipping the nails, making the whole experience very calm and done very fast, so my cat isn’t too bothered by it in the first place, the other very important factor is that my cat will NOT associate the clipping of his nails WITH ME…! Thus preserving the trust that we share between us, while still making sure his physical condition in general is ALWAYS taken care of too…! AND THATS INCLUDING HAVING HIS NAILS CLIPPED ON A REGULAR BASE…!!! Not ‘problem solved’…. But rather: ‘problem is simply NON EXISTENT…!!!

My cat is obsessively attached to me it’s crazier than preschoolers being attached to their mommy’s if at all. My cat even follows me to the bathroom. I love her so much. She is so well behaved, I can cuddle her for hours grab her carry her, rub her tummy nose and she never hisses or bites. The best thing is trimming her claws is so easy because she just lies there relaxed and chill until I’m done. I’ve seen cats who go psycho on their owners when they touch their paws let alone trim their claws.

My friend and I kidnapped two kittens from a drug house. When we got them home the female ran and hid under my skirt for an hour. She picked me. The next day we kidnapped the mother and took her to a no kill shelter and mom was adopted within two days. That was eleven years ago and I love my fur baby more and more with each passing day.😸

I am extremely lucky, I have two cats who love tummy rubs; both since they were kittens, one would roll on her back with her paws straight if you held your hand over her tummy, she'd pull it down to her belly and wriggle her tummy against it the other would roll onto her back if you walked up to her while she was sleeping; whenever she'd do this I'd sat "thanks for showing me your tummy' after a month or so of this I'd say "show me your tummy and she'd roll over for a rub it amazed everyone who saw it

You will get your sweet reward even if it stays a rebel, I have a stripey girl that’s mean as a snake after a year but when I go to bed she has to sleep next to my head sometimes wrapping around the top of my head and puts me to sleep with her loud purring and paws on my cheek. Scary though because sometimes if I move she will bite my head, have to do it quickly. I am a dedicated and crazy cat rescuer though and I never give up on them and do all I can to help them learn to trust again. It may not, they have personalities, some that like to be touched and some don’t, will get older and more docile, my friends daughter left her cat at home and it wasn’t a cuddler at all, my friend got sick and was at home all day forced the cat to comfort him and now it loves people, but that wouldn’t of happened naturally. My cat loves belly rubs. hugs me with his tail and points whiskers at. Sleeps no my chest and by my chest, head and feet when in bed. Blinks at me and loves kisses. Kneeds me. Pats my arms, leags, hands and head when he wants attention. Always by my side euther sleeping or talking to me

I need to go to bed with 3 thick socks on my left foot for safety reasons. If he is unable to hurt me, I can simply not respond, and he will give up and then go to sleep.

My outside/ inside cat of one year just went missing. Whole family is absolutely crushed. He was a tuxedo and the best little guy. Listened so well and behaved more like a well trained dog. Miss my noodle man he did all of these things for me..

Our cat used to wrap up dead birds or mice in my rag rug. When I came downstairs in the morning, if the rug was all scrunched over, I knew I had a dead present lol. If it was laid out straight and flat as normal, she hadn't caught anything for me the previous night. It was really handy to know. If it was scrunched and there was nothing wrapped in it, then you know you have to hunt for a mouse in the house, just in case. She was pretty lethal though, to be fair - we never saw anything live brought in.

I have to say to say that your video is very interesting. For my story, I had a female cat that was stalking me. She looked at me and meow at me. This was at work. Many people at work seen the cat and liked the cat. They tried to feed the cat and pet the cat. But she would not let no one touch her. I did not feed her and yet she kept coming to me. Now, this cat would stare at me from a distance. So, then I decided to feed her. Now, every time I came to work, she came running to me. Now, in the distance she would lay on her back, and I was wondering, what is she doing. So, I decided to take her home. Keep in mind, I did not want no pets. Five days later she had kittens. There was five and one was still born. Dealing with the kittens was the worst. But we come to learn and love each other. One in piacular blows my mind. I keep the three males. But one is not happy unless he is sleeping in my lap. The other, is when I go to the bathroom has to be the first one there. It is like it is his moment with me. he third one is a little afraid of me. And, yes, he has a right to be. I am a Marine. Please understand, I am not cruel or evil, I am just about discipline. Now, they and we all understand each other. I have to say, the one kitten that begs to sleep on my lap, blows my mind. He has created the bond for us all. GOD bless you all.

I think the main function of whiskers is to protect a cats head when passing through narrow spaces. In other words whiskers let a cat know if a space is wide enough to let its head (and body) pass through.

I have 2 cats. One is always following me rubbing on my legs and giving me his attentive meow when he wants to play with his wand which is all the time. I wake up in the middle of the night and he is at the end of my bed staring at me. I feel bad. My girl makes biscuits when she wants attention and wants a snack. She always blocks me from watching KZbin on my iPad and will walk across my laptop keyboard or just plops down on it and stares at me. She wants treats. Another thing she does is make meowing and screeching sounds carrying her stuffed fish toy when she wants dinner. It’s only the fish when mommy’s late giving her dinner. They both lay on the Their backs for belly rubs. The funny thing is I have to wait for my boy to approach me cuz otherwise he will run. He is very nervous. I love them!😊
