11-Year-Old Girl Fights Off Would-Be Kidnapper

An 11-year-old Florida girl escaped an attempted kidnapping after a man tried to grab her as she waited at the bus stop. The alleged kidnapper was captured on surveillance camera sprinting across the lawn and grabbing the girl in Pensacola. Police say he was armed with a knife. The 11-year-old fought back and managed to drag the man down to the ground. Apparently spooked, the assailant took off. Jared Stanga, 30, was charged with attempted kidnapping, aggravated assault and battery. #InsideEdition

She did struggle with PTSD after it but she's gotten therapy for this and other things that have happened to her and is doing alright now 😊 she and my dad have been through so much though, sometimes they tell me about the situations they've been through and I'm like that's so scary! I don't even have kids yet, but those kind of footage makes me so paranoid how to protect my future children. When I was that age, we were playing outside all day long in the neighborhood, weekends, weekdays after school. I walked to my school alone every day from first grade on. No schoolbus (I'm from Germany, we don't even have that kind of service), no mom-driving-me-service 😂. My mom told me not talk to strangers/ go with them and so on. I believe back then it was different times. Today you have to have cameras everywhere and teach your children self defense and if you let your kids walk alone in the neighborhood, you get arrested for child neglect.

Another tip is just don’t hold back. Go for anything, gouge the eyes, scratch the face. Whatever you do make sure they don’t take you to the second location.
