11 Years of Sobriety | My Journey from Addiction to Recovery | COLE CHANCE YOGA

Today marks 11 years of my sobriety journey - a milestone that once seemed impossible. Reflecting on my past, I remember a time when I didn't want to get sober. At 13, alcohol turned my black-and-white world into Technicolor. I was committed to that high, unaware of the darkness it would bring. For years, I was trapped in a bubble of denial, convinced I was having fun, but deep down, I knew I was spiraling.
Recovery wasn't a choice at first; it was survival. I didn't want to die. My journey began not with a desire for a better life, but with the realization that I couldn't continue on the path I was on. Over time, that shift from "freedom from" to "freedom to" occurred. Today, my life is full of wonder, connection, and joy I never thought possible.
This video is a reflection of my path - how I went from being stuck in the self-centered world of addiction to finding a deep sense of belonging, connection, and curiosity about the world around me. Whether you're struggling with addiction, or know someone who is, I hope my story brings you hope and insight.

Part of me wants to understand it all and the why why why takes over, then there's the addiction and the f*ck it, I know it's wrong but I'll do it anyway... the alcohol may be gone but the same patterns are very alive in other substances, food and habits. Look forward to exploring in the series.

I haven't listened to it yet, but I remember coming across Cole right about 11 years ago on a yoga channel from Texas, and following her for a while since and hearing about her addiction and her recovery, being so excited about her transformation and ability to become what she is now.
