This is a BALLSY move, from a writing standpoint. This really really changes the nature of the show. From the very beginning, the joke in Night Vale has been that everyone acts like it's not weird. Hmmm. I wonder if they'll deal with it or just revert to the status quo.

Guys, quick theory here. (More of an observation/head cannon, but whatever) I like how Carlos has one generally accepted appearance and he only appears to only be in one version of Night Vale. Meanwhile Cecil has a metric ton of head cannon appearances, and there seems to be infinite Cecils. This probably wasn’t intentional by Fink & Cranor, but it's still pretty cool.
@LillianWinterAnimations7 жыл бұрын
My beleif in this regard is that Carlos isn't an outsider. Well... There is ONLY night vale, right? You can't be from anywhere else. Everyone in Night Vale is FROM Night Vale, but not necessarily THAT Night Vale. That means Carlos is from an alternate Night Vale.
@mareanewman18967 жыл бұрын
YAH! Meaning either Carlos has been lying or he doesn't know. There must be an alternate nightvale that isn't called night vale and has a university.

+Marea Newman but if all the other reality are disappearing then will Carlos fade?
@BoxofGlitter7 жыл бұрын
Carlos CAN be an outsider. In Desert Bluffs and the Tiny Night Vale (Under land 5 of DGBAAFC) there were no mentions of Carlos alternates. Both of them are apparent Night Vale equivalents. So either Carlos is an outsider that only entered the current Night Vale we are receiving radio waves from, or the Carloses (Carloi?) from all the universes merged into one perfect-haired, dark-skinned beauty that has a personality of a normal scientist.

Hey Listeners I'm back for another Wedding Update. I mentioned a ways back that I got engaged to my Lovely Lady. I asked all you guys for suggestions for my Night Vale themed wedding and you guys came up with great ideas. Things haven't been on track lately. I got laid off a while back and I haven't been able to get back to the workforce yet so things - IMPORTANT things, are being postponed. Fret not, postponed is not cancelled. I love that woman and even through all the hell of the past months she still loves me. I'm a lucky man. This might be my last update until we come back in season six. Night Vale is a big part of what brought me and my Love together. This story Fink and Cramer write is an important part of my life and has given me something very dear to me. I sincerely thank you for this thing you guys do. Keep it up. Anyway that's the end of my tangent so until next time progressive days and peasant nights Listeners.

@crowstrive14267 жыл бұрын
I don't think we're too late; We are always able to change, we just have to acknowledge what we need to change, and be willing to make it better. The interaction between Cecil and Steve parallels it well; [about why they hadn't acknowledged the mean things Cecil said and how it made Steve feel bad.] "The main thing was to keep moving, not bog down in tears and emotions" "Facing it would mean pain" I can think of so many problems people just... don't bring up because the process afterwards is difficult and/or painful. I feel like we need to have an attitude more like Steve; "If you don't like me, just tell me why, and we can work through it!" Though that particular bit of dialogue can only be applied to some particular situations, I think the idea(s)/feeling(s) behind it are the main thing to take away: The ability and willingness to change, the willingness to be vulnerable, and be shown the parts that need fixing, (and/or to find why those parts are the way they are), and the notion that change or 'working through it' is a group effort. ("*We* can work through it") (some of this is from my reply to MySerpentine)

Man...I knew that everything was going to turn out okay in the end (because this is Night Vale, and everything always does), but I still cried during the part before the weather. Maybe it was because of the possibility of losing our Cecil. Maybe it was the possibility of him being replaced, and nobody carrying that knowledge except us and the few characters in-universe like Steve. What a masterful final episode. All those hints, all those details we once wrote off as normal-for-Night-Vale-weird-stuff...all woven together masterfully. Carved with the same care and attention to detail as a Matryoshka doll. This is, in my opinion, the best finale we've had thus far. It was big, and emotional, and revealed so much about the universe that this friendly desert community lives in. I adore WTNV. For a lot of reasons. The soothing voice taking us through it all. The interesting and strange universe that everyone lives in with an odd sense of normalcy. The character development and relationships between different people. But most of all, it's the knowledge that, no matter what, every episode. Every arc. Every major event... It'll all turn out okay. Even when it doesn't seem like it, it eventually *will be okay.*

@klltsun_25765 жыл бұрын
They didn't hear Huntokar's story?! Dammit! Is it because this version of Night Vale had forgotten about her, and so lost their connection to their god? And so they're unable to hear her, only Steve heard. Only Steve can see the glowing arrows in the sky, and even then he doesn't know that they're messages from her. And aww Cecil and Steve have a better relationship now! And so that's why Cecil hated Steve... I can't empathize, since I didn't experience something similar myself, but I understand. He's only human. The arrival of Steve meant that his role in his only living family left became distant once more, not as distant as Cecil and Abby before their mother died, but still distant. Abby with her daughter no longer needed him to lean on now that they have Steve there so... he felt bitter, I guess. He's only human, he's not perfect, and humans tend to not like change and likes being needed. Being needed makes us feel that we matter, that we had some purpose in life, after all. To people in the past episodes who said that Cecil just hates Steve for some stupid reason, hah. But then again, it wasn't revealed yet at that time, so I understand that too. Hearing about how Hiram was affected by Violet's head... I still stare at them in a stern and condemning way and continue to think their suffering is deserved because it is their crimes that led to the accidental death of Violet, but there is also a sadness in me. Just a tad. I pity and sympathize with their grief, I feel grief for Violet, but I had also cursed them in a previous episode to not die, but to live and suffer in regret and grief, and I stand by it. This show, this beautiful beautiful show. That was a beautiful end. So this is still Night Vale, weird and creepy and funny and has an oppressive government, but its' people now acknowledge how weird their town was, instead of drowning in denial.

Oh merciful glow cloud, I'm sobbing at work as Cecil says goodbye...and then what a relief when he goes into the weather.
