Thank you to share with us your traditional crafts that, I hope, will not get lost in time! What making crafts taught me is: patience and be meticulous, one pointed concentration in diving into what I am doing, time and space disappear... I am totally in... totally one with what I love to do and trusting that it will be fine...often brings beautiful surprises!!!
Beautiful work of weaving straw and creating useful items with your hands! I hope you are teaching others to do this amazing work. Thank you for this video. Stay safe and healthy!!!! ❤

Fascinating process, thank you for showing it. I am curious to know how long it takes to make a pair of these from start to finish. I'd also be curious to know what sort of plants are used and when and how they are harvested. Was this craft traditionally practised by women or both women and men or even mainly by men? Was there a particular region where it was carried out or did each community have a sandal-maker? How were the socks that were generally worn with those shoes made? It looked like the lady making the sandals was wearing a pair.
@kodawari.official9 ай бұрын
It takes about 1 day for making pair shoes! And it is made by straw from Japanese rice! Both men and women made straw sandals. Furthermore, there was no specific region, and straw sandal were made all over Japan. It is common to wear shoes without socks.

The great monuments are still there and have a lot of history, they are not perishable unless we destroy them. Those shoes have a long history and even if they break after many years of use, they will have served so many people who have made history. We must thank all those generations of people who have made those shoes for their help on the path of great achievements.
