Any plans ahead of time to use these hogs to feed hungry people? I get it that the wild hogs are ripping up crops and costing millions of dollars on damage but why not do some good with them? There would be ways of doing it. Period.
@Ultimatenightvision3 жыл бұрын
Government regulations and other practical considerations make it pretty much impossible for hunters in Texas to donate feral hog meat to the needy. In order to donate the meat, a licensed health official has to inspect the hog both before and after it is killed. Therefore, unless a hunter is able to bring a health inspector along with them on a hunt, there is no way to comply with this regulation. In addition to the regulatory issues, practical considerations make it extremely difficult, especially at scale. When we eradicate hogs, our goal is to eliminate as many as possible. During planting and harvest season we are regularly killing between 20 and 50 hogs per night. This requires shooting at large groups of hogs with semi automatic rifles at various distances, mostly while they are running at full speed. The possibility of achieving precise shot placement and maintaining safe recovery and food handling procedures on dozens of hogs scattered across large fields and pastures in 90 degree heat is essentially zero.

Some people take them to dog food makers which is awesome. Some people go hungry by choice because they don’t want to work and are drug addicts. Those people don’t deserve our help. They need to get their lives in order to merit help from me…

Massive improvements in just a few years here! No more everyone shooting at the same hog when theres 100 out in the field, and you're starting with the furthest ones out to allow for more total kills before they all vanish. And one thing that you never skimped on was nice clean ethical shots wherever allowed, instant lights out for most of them and superquick followups for the ones that weren't, totally different from typical moose hunters that let them bleed out for hours before they organize k9 searches.

There is valuable insight here for infantry combat training. We no longer 'own the night'. Our adversaries have similar ,or same IR and light amplification night vision. Darkness is not our friend. The natural response, as mammals, we have is to freeze when hearing unknown sound. Especially at night. This just makes it easier for enemy riflemen to engage . We need to train to go for C&C upon acoustic transient. We also need IR signature suppression built into infantry combat uniform and kit. Col. Boss "Hog" Littlesnout. Inf. CO 5th Hog Rgt. Guys, one question for you? Why do you have so many boars? Are there too many wild boars in Texas? Do you manage the population? We don't have wild boars in Russia at all. My father and I went hunting for a wild boar many times and we got only one. You are an excellent hunter, you shoot well at a running target, good luck to you!!!
@dragonraider11082 жыл бұрын
Here in Texas, wild boars are like rats. Only worse. They are destructive and cause millions of dollars in damage to crops and livestock. They hurt your animals and destroy farms. The reason we have to do this is because they breed almost as fast as rabbits and their numbers increase almost as fast as we take them out. Only reason hogs are hated so much is because they do nothing but damage to everything and they're essentially an army of pigs. It's almost a war.
