If the Angel of Death takes the souls individually, we now live in an age where we can postulate the possibility that no two die at precisely the same point in time. Consciousness of death makes us live life as not a goal, but the means. Focus on death frees us of attachment to the world as it and brings us closer to understanding transitional and transcendent states.
