Here is a Vlog on how I changed my handle bars in my VTX 1300C ! Big hint “ Most handle bars are made for harleys ……You will have to get an adapter or modify the handle bars to fit

Ya, you went too high for our stock cables. You can go 10" including risers with stock cables, but you still need to extend the wiring.

With the 12 inch how short we’re the stock cables to the bars ? I was going to do 10 inch apes with 1 inch risers? I have the exact same bike only mine is all black awesome bike ! 17k on it can you tell me where you order the cables how much as well ? Thank you

You can do a total of the 10” with the stock cables …..So if you did 2” risers and 8” apes you will be fine but if you go over ten it won’t fit …..

So much bad and misleading info on Facebook Honda forums. When I suggested to my mechanic that I could fit 10" on my 02 Sabre1100 with stock cables he laughed hard.
