Although not a Saturday morning cartoon, would you consider doing an episode on 'Wait Till Your Father Gets Home'? It was an animated prime-time family sitcom that was akin to 'All In The Family' (complete with the slacker hippie son). It ran from 1972-74 and was produced by Hanna-Barbera. It was a really good show.

Jonny Quest was actually first aired in 1964 and merely repeated on Saturday mornings in the later 1960s and 1970s. Also it's Jonny not Johnny; an extremely common mistake.

The reason that many of these cartoons were cancelled early, is that back then there was stiff competition. All three networks had Saturday morning cartoons. So, I remember as a kid you had to choose the coolest of the three. For example, if the Super Friends were on, then you wouldn't watch the other channels. They might have been good cartoons, but not as good as Super Friends. Also, very few TV's had remote controls in the early 70's, so you had to make a choice because nobody wanted to get up and keep changing the channels.

In the Funky Phantom, the Ghost wasn't a revolutionary war soldier. He was a civilian who probably wanted nothing to do with the war. He ran into a house, when he spotted British soldiers, and hid in a clock. He remained stuck in the clock, until the kids released them. If this was anything like "The Canterville Ghost" his being stuck as a ghost, may have been a punishment for being a coward.

Funky Phantom and Inch Eye Private Eye were the only ones imported by British Telly, or at least they are the only ones we ever saw from this selection. As there was no such thing as Saturday Morning Cartoons, these two beauties were broadcast during children's hour. This was the 1 hour slot before the 6 o'clock news. This short period for children usually consisted of; Blue Peter (An educational Magazine Programme), A North American Cartoon (Commonly Hanna-Barbera) and rounded off with a dubbed French import such as The Magic Roundabout, or Hector's House. In short, we didn't usually bother with Telly. There was nack-all worth watching.
