I helped her into the living room and we watch cartoons for 3 hours. She said she just understood me more with my cartoon choices.

Came out when I was 17. I was over cartoons by that age, but I dug the show, as it was presented maturely enough to not be insulting of intelligence. I especially liked the episode where Tarzan encounters some Vikings that somehow have migrated to Africa in their longboat and have kept their ways into the 20th century.

"Valley of the Dinosaurs" was incredibly done. I video taped it and recorded it from Boomerang in the early 2000's. My daughter (about 7 or 8 at the time), and I made up our own titles for each episode. Eventually, I bought the DVD, typed up our episode titles, printed it, and kept it inside the DVD box. Last year, my daughter called me and told me that for Christmas, she wanted "Valley of the Dinosaurs" and a copy of our episode titles. "Valley of the Dinosaurs" has become my grandson's favorite show.

Cool! I recognize about half including part 1!! So the Baggy pants character Gladys kinda reminds me of the Gladys Ormphby character played by Ruth Buzzi on Laugh In! Got a list from the back of my mind with older stuff; FELIX THE CAT 1958 MISTER MAGOO 1960-62 BEANY AND CECIL 1962-67 THE MIGHTY HERCULES 1963-1966 JOHNNY QUEST 1964-65 SPACE GHOST 1966 SUPER CHICKEN 1967-69 DUDLEY DO-RIGHT 1969-70 SPEED BUGGY 1973 GRAPE APE 1975 Thanks for the memories as Bob Hope used to sing! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎

Tarzan was my favorite! That’s the Tarzan I thought of when Tarzan was ever mentioned. I also loved the globe trotters.

I feel like this whole episode was sponsored in part by Hanna Barbera. Nearly every toon mentioned here was produced by them. One thing’s for sure though. They revolutionized animating techniques and helped push for the Saturday morning cartoons segment all of us 70s and 80s kids remember growing up with.

The Nit Wits were a spin off from Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in characters Artie Johnson and Ruth Buzzi.

Star Trek the Animated was 4:58 5:00 very important to me. Watching an episode while recuperating in the hospital, I still know which episode it was.

I remember several of these cartoons fondly. Although my exposure to the rest was somewhat restricted by their unavailability over here. Secondly, Saturday Morning Cartoons was not a thing in the UK. Certainly not in the 1960s & 70s. British children were more likely to have barely an hour of Telly scheduled for them. Instead we had to make our own entertainment (That old cliché). If one had mates, a bicycle, woodland, fields a football (No, we do not call it soccer), or a cricket bat, stumps and a ball, one was all set. Alternatively, tree branches and twigs could be fashioned into bows and arrows, rifles and handguns. (Toy guns? You must be having a bubble. Not a sausage). I consider myself extremely lucky, I had a dog to keep me company when my mates were in church, working, or studying. Throughout the 1980s & 90s Saturday mornings were dominated by cheap live TV shows that ran for 3+ hours straight. TISWAS & Swap Shop were just terrible, never ending unwatchable tripe. I almost envy North American kids, for their half a day of cartoons every week. You lucky sods.
