Sorry but you didnt refer to multiple executions for one order. Likewise there should be a reference to the FINRA interpretations

Partial executions are not counted as multiple trades on neither the opening or closing side but if you cancel the order and place a new order to get rid of the rest, that would of course count against your day trading tally.

tdameritrade counts this as two day trades Buy 1 Buy 1 sell 2 in the same day. I understand what the FINRA interpretations are, but TDAmeritrade doesns't care. Also fidelity I tried buy 4000 sell 4000 in one day. The buy order filled in three executions. Fidelity said that was three day trades. Interpretation/02 was put into place so brokers would have better understanding, but they never changed their software. While we are on the subject of counting trades. Fidelity counts buy 1 buy 1 sell 2 as two day trades. and buy 1 buy 1 sell 1 sell 1 as two day trades. thanks for responding bp @@1215DayTrading
