I watched Joe walsh play this on a telecaster last year in Philadelphia. And he went on to say “ it was easier being 20 in the 70’s. Then being 70 in the 20’s. He killed it and mention the tele was his favorite guitar when he started the song. He asked for his favorite guitar to a stage hand, and they handed him his telecaster.

Another great classic song. Been playing this one for years, but you provided a nice tune-up for me. Thx! Another song that has a nice backing track with original vocals that can be found on KZbin. If anyone’s reading I use the memo section on my iPhone for shortcuts to over 100 songs. I label them under “My Songs.” I then place the name of each artist and make a shortcut to the various backing tracks. Great fun rocking for hours!

Thanks for the extras on your Patreon site as well. Learning “Like the record” is great, I make my backing tracks from the record recordings using Moises app to separate or enhance up to 5 tracks from a song. In this case I’ll boost drums, reduce bass guitar and almost completely delete guitar to practice with.

Just to let you know - on the descending Am riff - he's, actually, picking, each note. I found this out because I was doing it how you were doing it, with a pull-off on the second note, because it felt more natural to me. However, if you listen to the album recording, he's picking each of the first 5 notes, at least. Otherwise, I thank you for this lesson!

Great, esp. microtone part - takes excellent control and feel. Also want to point out, during #48, when you did ring finger bend(multi. strings), how much the elbow go away from body for strength-stability. Badass. Ü♫

This is a comment for the commenter, or is it commentators,commentors, hmmmm.... I'm not sure. Anyone? This will distract me to no logical end, sometimes I can go through the most difficult passages of really technical pieces of music, no problem, but it's the little details I can't get right in my head, it'll sound fine, but, not being sure of exactly or, authentically how it is played mechanically, it will drive me nuts!!! So much so, that I almost deleted my comment because I totally lost the question I had for the sensai,(author, teacher).....to whom I would like to extend a big thank you to for his awesome taste and knowledge of the songs I love!

Speaking of little practice amps that sound great when cranked. My first "real" amp, was a 1968 Fender Musicmaster Bass amp. It kicked ass when I ran my 1969 Ampeg Dan Armstrong plexiglass guitar through it. 👍
@12footchain Жыл бұрын
Oh yeah! I heard about that amp about a year ago . there's a great video on that here kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKjVpqaug9lnqdE
@paulkramer9666 Жыл бұрын
@@12footchain And you know what? I was 15 years old and had that amp given to me by my best friend. We also swapped guitars. I gave him my Kent semi hollow body, and he gave me his Dan Armstrong. When I look at what that amp goes for used today I cringe. The Dan Armstrong too. Mine came with two interchangeable pickups. Yikes! I was thinking the other day, and made a list of all of the guitars I've owned since the early 1970s. Then, I went on "Reverb" and started pricing them. Good lord! Four Gibson Les Paul Customs - 76, 79, 86, 90, one Les Paul Deluxe Gold Top - 73, one Les Paul Standard 77, one Gibson SG Custom - 73, one Firebird V -76, one Flying V - 74, one Fender Telecaster Custom - 74, two Ampeg Dan Armstrongs - both 1969, three Fender Precision basses - 73, 78, 83. There were several more. Then I started adding up what all of the Marshall 100 watt heads and 4×12 cabinets go for. And those rare Marshall 8×10 cabs. When I got to $100k, I stopped.

If you're like me and are having trouble hybrid picking the "chicken picken" part of the intro, you can also do it with your thumb and first finger, just move the pick over between your first and middle finger while doing it, it's how I've always done it and sounds about the same.
