mate its not a seagul movement its something produced in china and now proven to be very reliable, you cannot remove back because its a "snap on" fit, prise the back off and it will fall off in your hand? i have 4 of these and i use them for daily wear as they are so cheap and look great

The funny thing about this watch is that it actually withstands 3bar water pressure! Another KZbinr tested that. It has proper O-rings/gaskets under back and crown. So unlike the Tevise Submariner it can actually be submerged without getting water into the case immediately. Of course still not a real diver and I wouldn't actively choose to wear it while swimming, but way more reasonable than one which can't even withstand washing dishes or falling into a puddle.

The case is indeed cheap zinc alloy with nickel and chrome plating. Don't put it into acid or you'll have a nasty surprise.
@JasonTheWatchGuy4 жыл бұрын
That must be the saving grace of this one! Lucky enough I usually keep my watches away from acids haha!

I have purchased a watch very similar. I believe it’s the same model only with a blue instead of green dial, it hasn’t arrived yet but the reason I purchased it was to see if I liked this divers type watch because I’ve never owned one and I don’t know whether the style will suit me. I’ve always just dress watches with leather straps. The second reason why I bought it was to try my hand at watch making, and I thought what a perfect TestBench or training piece this would be. I mean the first time you try anything you’re probably going to mess it up and for the $30 Australian that I spent on this watch I figured if I mess it up not a big deal. i’ve been watching so many watch restoration videos for years. Now I figure my knowledge is to a point where I feel confident and trying out the hobby so I’ve spent several hundred dollars acquiring a bunch of cheap basic tools to see if I like what I think I’m going to like.

The watch is now arrived along with a dress watch of similar value that I ordered from AliExpress and I am really pleased with the purchase. I can’t believe how they can sell these watches so cheap you can tell it’s cheap but overall it is a fully mechanical watch and it is a decent quality. I do think I like the style now, and it makes me want to look into purchasing something of high-quality but this was certainly worth the purchase

Picked this watch up on an army green nato for £8.85 on sale from Ali earlier this year. Not a particularly great watch, but a great deal for a fun subby homage. Like the darker green bezel on this model too. Loving the channel Jase, keep up the great content!

Thank you, Harry! I don't know if there is a cheaper Subby automatic on the market.

WOW I actually have this in GREEN too =D Strap is light. The whole watch is light. The only thing that gets me is that to change the date, i need to keep turning the crown. I mean, the date cant be changed separately. Just keep moving the time forwards for the date to change OMG!

Tin or pewter? unlikely the latter as it contains lead but it could be plated. Lol and boo hiss that bracelet but my only complaint would be the uneven distortion in the case, the sides could've been straighter but that's nitpicking a $17 watch.

A lot of things didn't sit right with the watch for me! Although you're definitely right the price counteracts all of that!

Admittedly i bought 4 of these for like 8 quid each i was well impressed and works really well no complaints and i feel i got more then i paid for. I wear it at any condition water does sometimes get in but for the price not a big deal drys itself with steamy face haha😂 drys fine

Yeah, you do want the dial to slide. Otherwise it is just useless decor. The purpose of the dial is so you don’t have to do math. For example, no matter what time you have right now, if I ask you to meet me in 20 minutes, you just slide the dial so the arrow points to the minute hand. Now, the dial will tell you when 20 minutes are up.
