If only there was some kind of person you could go to for legal disputes regarding locks...

Nice work, shame about the pins!

Screwed from the view point of a Hobby picker but they are genuine pins. The solid pins are added to prevent an over lift attack from a few years back, but only 1 of the chambers should have one in it. Looks like the seller is using old locks and repining with new keys and any old pins that fit! Let the forums know the sellers ID so we can avoid these locks. I didn't see the interactive element in there, was that all ok?

Interesting. Thanks for the info. The core did have the reactive portion, and it works fine. Upon inspection, the only incorrect parts are the key pins. Now, I just need to find someone who can send me replacement key pins based on the code card... Or find someone local with a pinning kit.

The solid pins are a type used in master key systems, though you should never have all 5 like that.

Thanks for explaining what happened as a newbie to the channel and the hobby I was confused about what the problem was. Your explanation was spot on for the questions I had.
@geekof923 жыл бұрын
Fred, the only problem is that the whole point of buying this specific lock is the added difficulty of having to pick 10 pins instead of 5. Without that you didn't actually pick a real mul-t lock.

Someone took the time to swap out the pin-in-pin for regular pins? Maybe they were building a custom lock and choose the socially deviant way of recoup costs. Not right, man.

"If you like this...unlike me..." - This is when LockPickingLawyer flips from LockPicking mode to Lawyer mode. Do you think that the eBay seller would have repinned this lock? Or could there be someone in a factory putting out locks like this under the noses of Mul-T-Lock?

Great picking. Terrible the pins were wrong in the plug.
@lockpickinglawyer9 жыл бұрын
Texas Jim Thanks... I'll try again after I get it back from Papa Gleb who is going to re-pin it correctly.

Great video despite irritating defective lock. By the way, before commencing filming, having a teaspoon of Worcester Sauce will stop that frog in your throat! The late comedian Tommy Cooper swore by it. :)

Love those drivers but the key pins suck lol Great picking regardless.

Papa Gleb Thanks... maybe I will try this again when I get it back from you.

What did the seller say when you wrote them?
@lockpickinglawyer7 жыл бұрын
This was just master keyed... at the time, I was unfamiliar with some of the solid pin master keying options. This was a case of caveat emptor with used locks.

LockPickingLawyer - still a dick move on the seller’s part not to point it out. Now a great deal of time has passed and the seller won’t likely remember this sale, just casually drop in a comment in one of your uploads how much you don’t trust that seller. Maybe few hundred thousand people sharing that that particular seller is off your Christmas card list may make him revisit his sales and customer service techniques...

Just watching through these videos, sudden change in voice tone starting this episode, much more up beat, less baritone than previous episodes. Just sorta interesting.

Doing the same and I noticed that too. Seems like he was starting to get comfortable making these videos. It is kind of fun see what a younger LPL was like compared to now

I noticed you still use that toolsmart screwdriver. Where did you get it? I couldn't find it online.
@shadroid5 ай бұрын
Old post but I'm curious if you found your screwdriver. I have that exact set that I got at microcenter. SWATOM makes what appears to be an exact knockoff and garret-wade sells a 9 in 1 that looks slightly different but does the same thing with in-body storage of tips. The set I have has a red one and a blue one with the colors denoting different tip types.

What a bummer man. It was still a nice pick though, albeit maybe not what you expected. :) Maybe a good dimple lock for a beginner to try?
@lockpickinglawyer9 жыл бұрын
Indeed... I plan to pin it up back to its former glory, so maybe we will try this video again soon. That said, it's more difficult than you would think as is.

Then, double kudos to you for making it look so easy! :)

Dose anyone else think it would feel kinda weird for the LPL to not be be able to pick open a lock?

Just started watching your channel got brought here through recommendations. I've just started getting into this has a hobby and your vids are the best I've seen so far. Do you have any recommendations for how to get started on this. Like what kind of locks to start on and best gear I should have. I know this is an old vid so I don't know if you'll respond. But hoping you will. Either way thanks for the great videos.
